The newly refurbished Woodman Inn has been transformed throughout to offer guests a relaxed experience in luxury surroundings. The Woodman Inn offers a warm cozy pub downstairs and a more refined dining experience in our first floor restaurant which can also be hired out privately for weddings/functions etc...We now have 10 double bedrooms & 3 cottages all with luxurious en-suite facilities and toiletries provided by Temple Spa, digital televisions and complimentary WiFi available throughout.
Its been a couple of months since our last Woodman visit, and that's definitely at least a couple of months too long!! Its a stunning venue, beautiful gardens and a really lovely pub, restaurant, inside... We only do lunchtime as we can't keep our eyes open beyond 3pm these days, so really pleased to see the restaurant offering a full menu every lunchtime now. After a drink in the garden, we nibbled on some delicious chicken wings whilst deciding on lunch... Service was good, a great wine list, and a menu with so many great options. Black Pudding Scotch Egg was gorgeous, as was the lentil daal.. followed by beautifully cooked lamb and a wonderful pork chop! The food was faultless.... We realised that we had missed our Woodman visits and left knowing we were going to book again next week!!? No better recommendation needed. Excellent job, well done everybody. See you soon. ??

This is a review of the hotel NOT the restaurant. I gave 5 stars on the restaurant review. We stayed for the night after a fantastic meal, living fairyl local but decided to stay rather than mess around with taxis. The restaurant is superb, food and service is first class, the full English breakfast was lovely but unfortunately the rooms are a bit tired, shabby and a little rough around the edges for a hotel of this standard and price. It didn't spoil the stay but could do with a little more attention to detail on the rooms/accomodation.

Welcome to The Croppers Arms, a local Yorkshire pub in the heart of Marsh, Huddersfield. The Croppers Arms has a long history dating back to the 1840’s and all this time later we are still serving the local community and those who join us from further afield. We pride ourselves on great home cooked food; a lovely pint and a cosy home from home feel. If you find yourself in need of a plate full of delicious homemade pie, fish and chips or juicy steak, washed down with a pint of real ale or full bodied Shiraz, we will be happy to look after you. We have five recently refurbished cosy and comfortable en suite rooms available, so if you’re looking for accommodation in Huddersfield that is well located for motorway access to Leeds or Manchester and is a welcoming home from home we will be happy to help.
After arriving here I was pleasantly greeted by staff and shown to my room for the evening. The room was nice, fresh and a large shower which was very hot water :). Food here was divine would just come back for the dirty fries. The breakfast was very nice bacon cooked well and eggs where so fluffy :p The bed was comfortable and slept a dream. Would recommend and have recommended a friend to stay here as really good and value for money

Located on the edge of the Burton Dean Valley, The Foxglove offers the best value accommodation and delicious pub food, in wonderful surroundings. The perfect place to rest your head after a weekend of exploring the local area or a mid-week business meeting, this bed and breakfast hotel in Kirkburton will allow you to enjoy a comfortable night's sleep as well as a varied menu, cask ales and carefully selected wines, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Surrounded by glorious Yorkshire scenery and a host of delightful towns and villages, The Foxglove is sure to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.
The Foxglove pub which the lodge is at the side of is really nice and I enjoyed my breakfast (menu not buffet style). Unfortunately I got a really bad nights sleep for a few reasons - there was a bad drainage smell coming from the bathroom, the walls are thin and I could hear the person in the room next door snoring loudly, there was a strange dripping/tapping noise, following by whirring noise constantly throughout the night, I found the mattress a bit hard and my hips got sore.

Hotel badgers you with transactional emails. Many just repeat the same stuff. Over 15 emails in the space of a couple of days. Only 2 or 3 were actually needed. Had phone calls from the hotel as well, asking for ID (in addition to the emails). The hotel badgers you for a £50 security deposit. Can’t understand why a hotel in such a poor state of disrepair and with such poor fixtures and fittings can justify a security deposit. We parked in the rear, and walked in through “the garden”. It’s a mulched lawn, an untidy path, and has old chairs, fridges, rubbish bags, and junk in the back. We rang the hotel on arrival. I struggled to understand anything the hotelier was saying, and so it took several attempts to open the rear door. The reception are smelled bad, was really tatty and run down, and roasting hot. TEverything is run down, tatty, damaged, dirty, and desperately in need of cleaning and renovation. Our room also smelled really bad. Had to open to window to air it. There was a budget office chair in the corner in front of the flat pack wardrobe. Bathroom - no mirror in the bathroom, no lock on the door, the door was hard to shut, and the shower leaked. The towels provided weren’t big enough for showering and felt cheap and tatty. Slept ok once we got used to the heat and smell - but got woken up a couple of times by doors slamming.
