The water is brown and had two small red worms in our tub. The division between the beds and bathroon is a blind, so no privacy. The balcony is of no use as the road noise is bad. But it is well maintained and clean.

Choose either a 1,5km or 600m loop, both are easy-going with some steady inclines and offer some great views of the adjacent area and also offer great opportunities of sunrise/sunset viewings.
An authentic old small village experience. We stayed in the unit that used to be the home of the local Butcher. Have seen the turnoff to Swinburne before and never knew this must be one of the nicest small towns in South Africa. Location is great as a midway between KZN & Gauteng, and just off the N3 and outside the town Harrismith and Van Reenens Pass. The unit is basic as one can expect, but it had two patios. Nice cosy local restaurant pub with fireplace and great for dinner and breakfast.

We needed to find accommodation close to the N3 freeway en route to Johannesburg. Mountainview Inn met all our needs. It was a comfortable room with tea and coffee facilities, microwave and full bathroom. Liaising with the Inn was efficient and our requirements were met with great ease. These rooms are suitable for single travellers or a family of 4 incl 2 young children. We will stay there again. Restaurants all within close walking distance.

Guesthouse was very friendly and prompt with replies, we cannot fault them on that. We booked for business travel and no meals where booked. Unfortunately all three gentleman that stayed there, in three seperate rooms had tick/flea bites (bed bugs) all over their bodies. As I made the booking, I reported it to the guesthouse but they did not even respond. If it was my establishment I would be a tad humiliated and would definitely reply to apologise and take action.

Best accommodation Harrimsith thus far I have been able to visit. Warm welcoming from Staff, showed me to my room, gave me wifi passwords, and added me to the gate system, which I must say was a first, you have to be able to dial yourself into the property. Aircon was not working so I was given a heater which helped a little, along with the warm blanket in the cupboard. old house which has been divided up into rooms with very old creaky wooden floors which is a little creepy when walking in after dinner and all lights were off inside. Breakfast was ok,

The website images and reviews is a gross misrepresentation of the actual establishment. It is clear that routine maintenance is seriously lacking. 1.No personal reception upon arrival. 2. No key available to lock the door in an establishment next to a main road. 3. Attempts to contact the owner by telephone, whatsapp and email has been futile to date. 4. The shower was filthy. 5. Paid 150Rand upfront for dinner, and only got an 85Rand burger, which did not even include a refreshment.
