Greensboro, North Carolina loves nightlife, shopping, and horses (8,000 buyers per year go to the Sharpe Family Horse Farm.)  Greensboro lives up to its name in the host of gardens, science centers, and arboretums. The Bog Garden features a living wetland ecosystem. History is also at home here with museums dedicated to the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and the Civil Rights movement. After a day of sightseeing, visitors flock to the Four Seasons Town Center for dinner, shopping, and a movie.

Haynes Bed & Breakfast

We are only 2 blocks from downtown with all of its restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, art galleries and craft breweries. We are a college town, with 4 colleges within a 1.5 mile radius. Each room has a queen bed and private bath. We have a refrigerator in the upper hall, outside the rooms, for our guests to share. Our upper porch is reserved for our guests and is a great place to hang out and watch the world go by! We use organics as much as possible for our breakfasts and cleaning.

First time in Greensboro

First time in Greensboro. Lovely B & B, great decor. Breakfast was outstanding. Close to downtown restaurants & bars. Only knock would be you are near the fire station and apparently people in Greensboro need fire trucks throughout the night. They do provide ear plugs.

Wonderful Comfortable B&B, Fantastic Location

I chose this stay based on all the glowing reviews, and they are not wrong! This is a beautiful historic home in a beautiful neighborhood, easy walk to downtown, parking available right in front of the house, and once you park you won't need to move your car again until you leave. The home faces a pretty, woodsy park--we had a very comfortable room with a windowseat overlooking the park and the house's lovely front garden. The hostess Sarala was so nice--very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The breakfast she prepared for us was quite literally the best I've had in years, and she made each plate up according to our dietary restrictions/preferences. She even gave us treats and water for the road when we had to leave! Everything was clean, and the bed was so comfortable! We loved it and were sorry that we could only stay one night. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again! Many thanks to Sarala and her family for such a nice stay!

WOW

While we haven’t stayed overnight here, on April 13, we attended Wine Tuesday with family and friends. My niece lives in the area and seems to bring husband, family and others to this location for dining. We walked in and a GREAT jazz band was playing. We enjoyed wine, a dill pickle pizza, Buffalo wings, tater tots as well as the company and music. The back yard has beautiful trees providing great shade and atmosphere with several tables for casual dining out doors. There are also some veranda tables available. It’s all first come first served. You place your order with the cashier and bring your own drinks back to the table, but your food order is brought to you when ready. We’d been there a couple of hours, and were about ready to leave when the band was finished. We did enjoy the wine itself. I prefer glass to plastic, but given the outdoor setting, I understand the practicality of plastic. The price seemed a bit much, however there was no cover charge for the band, nor was there a minimum order. The food was fun and good as well, making the whole evening simply delightful beyond expectations. I spoke with NIcole as I cashed out and she encouraged me to tour the bedrooms/suites that were open rather than occupied that evening. Our whole group did. Completed in early 1909, the Harden Thomas Martin House - now known as Double Oaks - is one of only a handful of surfing examples of Colonial revival style architecture in the city of Greensboro. It was accepted into the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The rooms/suites we viewed were just beautifully done! While I love my niece and her hospitality, when my husband and I know our dates for a return trip to Greensboro next year we definitely plan to check on availability at Double Oaks. My niece and her husband said they would like to join us, too.

Wonderful wedding weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at The Groome Inn. Our niece got married there and we stayed on site. Evie was a delight to work with and she really took care of our family. The home and property are beautiful, the mattresses are to die for (we all slept so well!), and the setting for a wedding just can't be beat. Thank you so much, Evie for making our niece and her husband's wedding so special!
