Simply put, we love what we do. "Hospitality" . Not just for what it is, but for the experience that accompanies it. Strangers gathering and leaving as Friends. Giving you a Holiday feeling. Making you smile. Homely surroundings, great company and conversation, attentive waiters, who become friends and of course fine wines from around the world. After a evening of gastro food delights, award-winning gourmet pies, laughter and the occasion sing song and music Infront of the open fire retire to our courtyard of individually simple designed rooms and drift off, to wake up to the sounds, sights and smells of the idyllic Gloucestershire countryside. Followed of course by a hearty breakfast and maybe a stroll up the majestic May Hill. Its what we do best.
When I booked two nights at the Farmers Boy, (we were en route to Devon), I particularly mentioned that my husband, my daughter and I had disabilities and said that we needed help with our luggage. I really stressed this and that we would have three large suitcases which would be fairly heavy because we were staying in Devon and elsewhere for 2.1/2 weeks. I was told that this would be absolutely no problem. When we checked in I asked for the help with the luggage, I repeated that there were several suitcases and they would be heavy. The General Manager came to help us. He was polite and very helpful however, when he saw the luggage he grabbed three of the largest bags and took them to the little compound of rooms. He was obviously struggling and I couldn't understand the, "iron man", display of carrying three large heavy suitcases at once. He indicated that he was returning to the bar because, he snapped, "I have other things to do". I was quite upset and said that we couldn't carry the luggage because of our disabilities however he disappeared into the pub. Later when we went to have our evening meal, I jokingly said that I was sorry that we had been such trouble to him. This seemed to do the trick and he was very different after that. He was very friendly and polite, it was such a shame that he had let himself down by being so rude to us over the luggage. The rooms: We had two rooms, a double for my husband and a twin for my daughter and myself. The room appeared clean at first glance however when we actually used the bathroom, the area around the toilet needed a good clean. There was a hospitality tray with ample tea, coffee etc. The television needed replacing. It was difficult to use and somehow, ran an hour behind. The duvet and the single beds were very small and thin, we were cold on both nights. My husbands room was all right and his TV worked well. We had porridge pots in the room for breakfast as we always do in hotels, etc., because we can't manage a full cooked breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful paticularly one lady called Suzy. However, when we were talking to Suzy, (not for very long), a lady who appeared to have some kind of authority made some off hand remarks saying we call her "Suzy, Suzy" the words seem OK however the attitude came across as, I'm in charge - get on with your work". Oh dear - she needs to realise that putting customers at ease is a big part of hospitality work and Suzy was very good at her job. The food was excellent but such large portions. We have limited mobility and the pub is very old with higgledy piggledy steep two or three stairs in various places. There could have been information about this in the rooms. When we managed to get to the beer garden, (quite a struggle for someone with limited mobility), we realised that we could have walked across the front of the pub to a gate to get into the beer garden. All in all, with some improvements in attitude and updates to bedding, cleaning and facilities such as TV, (agreed that we don't go away to watch TV but we like to keep up to date with news). we would stay again. I feel awkward at writing this review as it wouldn't take much to improve the accommodation but I have thought long and hard and decided that if I didn't include the problems then how could the management know of them. However, there was generally a very good atmosphere in the pub.

We visited this lovely hotel for lunch on a Thursday lunchtime. Lovely quirky place, lots of different sized tables to choose from and interesting pictures on the walls. Nice atmosphere. Really friendly, polite and efficient staff. Good selection of large and small meals. We both chose toasted sandwiches which were served with fries…..food was excellent, hot, fresh and so tasty. Coffee was excellent too. Good choice of soft drinks. Thank you.

Combining modern comfort with rustic elegance, each of our cottage-style bed and breakfast rooms have their own individual character. Named after the prize-winning hounds from the nearby Beaufort Hunt, each room includes sumptuous features such as king-size four poster beds, ivory sheepskin rugs and luxurious Feather and Black mattresses and duvets which altogether ensure a relaxing and comfortable night's slumber. Our restaurant is renowned for using the freshest locally sourced produce. Fresh daily specials are handwritten on the restaurant blackboard and are cleverly complimented with an imaginative selection of lighter snacks.
Lovely dog friendly break away. The whole place is dog friendly so it was lovely to be able to sit in the restaurant area for our evening meal. Lovely garden to the rear of the Kings Arms to sit out and enjoy the sun.

The Lamb Inn at Great Rissington is one of the Cotswolds' most welcoming country inns. Overlooking the Windrush Valley, The Lamb is surrounded by heritage sites and visitor attractions, antique shops and art galleries, cultural and sporting events. In May 2011, we are pleased to announce we received a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.
We stayed 3 nights. Just the most wonderful place. The food was excellent, the staff were great, the room was spacious and well decorated. Central to most of the lovely Cotswold picturesque towns, a short drive away. We enjoyed the Lamb Inn so much I just had to write a review.

If you want the quintessential English Inn stay then look no further, this is it. A spacious room with an immaculate bathroom with a roomy walk in shower. With room for a sofa and a desk this bedroom would elsewhere be considered a suite. Only thing missing was a coffee table. The Inn is obviously a building that has been knocked through, expanded on and otherwise modified, so nothing looks straight or level which adds so much character. The staff themselves add even more, friendly and chatty we could have talked with them all night if our tiredness hadn't gotten the better of us. Dinner was excellent... the only fault I could make was that the steak was dry aged when it mentioned nothing of the sort on the menu... now that is really not a problem... at least not for me, but I told the staff they should advertise the fact that it's locally sourced meat and dry aged as that's a real selling point.

Every time I come here I wonder why I don’t come more often. The ale here is just so brilliant with a great choice of different local beers. Well kept and served by good, local staff. The atmosphere is always good, open beams and a good rural feel to the whole pub. Haven’t eaten here for a while but those I know who have always seem happy. Along with the Fox this is my favourite Bredon Hill pub, though this is more of drinkers pub and excels at that.

A beautiful historic guesthouse and working farm on the edge of the Cotswolds. We offer inviting and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in a building steeped in character and history on the outskirts of Bath. Toghill House was built in 1691 and originally used as a resting house for monks travelling between Glastonbury and Malmesbury. It was restored in 1861 as a working farm and now offers a traditional B&B service for the travellers of today exploring this charming part of the country. Visitors to Toghill can relax in rooms in the main farmhouse or barn conversion, all of which have been carefully decorated to reflect the history of the buildings. Our guesthouse also boasts stunning views over the River Severn, the Bristol Channel, the hills of Wales and the Brecon Beacons. As a guest you will be invited to enjoy visiting our working farm during your stay, to walk around, meet the animals and make use of the stables and arena for your own horse if required
We arrived late to find the key to our room along with a kind welcoming message from Lady of the Manor, Laura, waiting for us. This B&B is real in every sense of the word. It is part of an actively run farm, it is run by a nice, young, helpful and hospitable couple, it is set in an old manorlike building on the top of a Hill with a great view over the Valley and it offers a delicious full English breakfast in a bright recently added room with Nothing missing. We really enjoyed our stay in a comfortable, bright and practically designed room with a view. No restaurant but recommendations to nearby places to eat so we went the 4 km to Wick and thoroughly enjoyed a tasty pub dinner at the Rose & Crown.
