Perched on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, Galle wears its history on its sleeve. Windswept beaches and nodding palms surround its colonial-era showpiece, a 16th-century Portuguese-built fort, while the rest of the city is trimmed with Dutch-style houses, quirky shops, whitewashed mansions, and heritage museums.

“Guests get the convenience of hotel services and the ambiance of a villa at Fort Printers… The eighteenth-century mansion turned printing facility now houses five stylish, antiques-filled suites—four linked via a second-story walkway, common in colonial buildings of the era; the fifth, poolside. The jackwood floors, copper-lined rain showers, and extra-long lap pool are generating a buzz among design-savvy visitors.” - Conde`Nast Traveler Hot List 2006
One of the better hotels we stayed in during our almost month in the country and in a building that was once a print works, then a bank and still retains its old world charm. The room was first class, spacious and well appointed, the service was of the highest quality, as one had come to expect and the food was excellent but expensive, again as one had come to expect in the hotels. We would happily return to this one.

In the centre of the romanticized an tranquil Galle fort ANTIC is ringed by colonial buildings, a smattering of restaurants, well preserved ramparts and a crescent of coastline.refined yet relaxed, with spaces that are small, warm and comfortable, ANTIC is for those who crave the comfort of home, the sophistication of a boutique hotel and the privacy of a beachside retreat in one place. We are located just 3 minute walk from the famous Rampart Walk.
Very tastefully designed room which was clean, modern and spacious with AirCon, fan and tv. As the hotel wasn’t fully booked I was lucky to be upgraded to a larger room for free and I was also allowed a late check out without any extra fee, absolutely top service! The staff is mega friendly and helpful (booked airport transfer and has a tuktuk available at a fair price). A very tasty Sri Lankan or Western breakfast is also included.

We spent at the Le Jardin du Fort in Galle 4 days / 3 nights (family of 5 with 3 kids: 9, 4 and 1 y. old). We liked this place much! Galle is thanks to its fortress and colonial history a must to do in Sri Lanka. 3 nights were for us enough. We choosed this place, because we liked the reviews on TA. And also thanks to a prompt communication between us and the owner. What was great? Room, beds, bathroom, b-fast, cappucino, cleanliness, personal approach, kindness, value… Italian restaurant nexdoor is a great spot! Thx! Pavel and family

We really enjoyed our stay at this small, clean, and elegant guesthouse in Galle Fort. It's in an old colonial-style building with lots of history (which, if you're a nerd like me, you can read all about in the information booklet that they leave in your room). As other guests have mentioned, the rooftop area overlooking the cricket green and the Fort walls is a big bonus - and there were also similar views from the dining area just outside our room, where we liked to have breakfast and look out at the passers-by. It's lovely watching groups of tourists and locals alike all gathering along the Fort wall at sunset to look out at the sea. Really good-quality breakfast too (our first taste of Sri Lankan egg hoppers with daal!). Our room was nice and comfortable and although it sounds like a small thing we were really happy with the shower - definitely one of the better bathrooms/shower facilities that we came across staying at guesthouses in Sri Lanka within this (very reasonable) price range. Probably the best thing of all at this guesthouse though was the hospitality and excellent service. Our hosts were always on hand to offer advice and help us arrange things that we wanted to do (including a very early-morning tuk-tuk drive to visit the Japanese Peace Pagoda and nearby Jungle Beach). And so thoughtful - the absolute highlight of our stay for me was when my boyfriend asked a staff member if he could kindly cut a coconut open for us so that we could drink the water...and instead of just halving the coconut, the waiter returned proudly displaying what can only be described as Coconut Origami (he had somehow carved the coconut into the shape of a mouse, with ears, and then popped two straws in it for us - it was amazing!). Officially the best/most surprising drink that we had in all our time in Sri Lanka! So thank you very much to Seagreen Guesthouse for giving us these memories :)

This hotel is a wonderful calm and tranquil place in the centre of Galle Fort. The hotel is situated in a quiet street with a lovely garden at the front and courtyards at the back filled with tropical plants. The hotel is relatively small and very attractively designed. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful Our room was situated on the ground floor with patio doors to an attractive courtyard. The room was very comfortable with very efficient air-conditioning. The attached bathroom was very clean and everything functioned perfectly. The breakfast was served by the garden and was very good. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. They helped us with printing visas for our next destination. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay here again if in Galle.

Fort Bliss Galle, a Dutch-style colonial villa situated in the paradise Fort of Galle, a UNESCO world heritage site. Overlooking the ramparts with a sea view, the villa is a sight to behold. Antique furniture alongside intricate Moroccan lamps adorn this four bedroom getaway. Facilities such as A/C, ceiling fans, hot water, Wi-Fi and cable TV are provided.
My Dad and I stayed here for two nights as part of a 16 night trip to Sri Lanka. We had a twin room on the ground floor, which was lovely and clean. Excellent water pressure and comfortable beds. During our trip, there were power cuts, but the property had a generator, so that was no problem. The location is excellent, great if you want to walk to most places. The friendly, hospitable staff and the delicious breakfast were the highlights of our stay! The chef beautifully presented the fruit, and the omelette was the best I've ever had.

This guest house started in 1968. According to the Lonely Planet travel guide (1980 edition-page 82) there were only two guest houses in the Galle Fort. This is the only existing guest house. It was started by Mrs. N.D. Wijenayake, the Former Deputy Mayor of Galle. Guest house has 9 A/C rooms. It has no curfew time.
We visited May 2022. The owner was friendly and helpful. He helped for bike rental and currency exchange. Finally he also helped us for transport as we traveled from Galle to Ella. They have water refilling facility with games in the entrance office. The room was clean with Wi-Fi and other basic facilities.

Welcome to Amma Erna. You can find us in Galle, the south of Sri Lanka. Our villa is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city life and yet it is only five to ten minutes away from where the action is. In every season of the year you can enjoy the architecture, the nature, the tranquility and not to mention the sun. This three-bedroom villa with private pool provides the perfect balance between a romantic ambience, serene surroundings and exclusive privacy, and it is just a few minutes' drive to some of Sri Lanka’s best white sand beaches.
In the morning u are woken up by monkeys and peacocks, theres no ac but you don’t even need it since theres no windows and you can enjoy the fresh air and feel the breeze. Very private, up the hill, in the nature but only 10min away from the beach and restaurants. Room is great, very modern with romantic baldachin over your bed. Pool is nice and you get sun for big part of the day if you wish to tan. Big thanks to Dean for always being in a good mood and smiling and making great coffee. If we ever return to Srilanka we will definitely stay here again.
