Gateway to Belize, Tikal in Guatemala and the numerous Río Bec ruins, Chetumal is the capital of Quintana Roo state. Buses connect major cities, including those in Belize. Rental cars cannot be taken through the Belize border. The busy city's old town boasts a Caribbean feel. The excellent, interactive Museo de la Cultura Maya offers fascinating insights to those planning to follow the dramatic Río Bec ruin route. The vine-strewn ruins are rich in wildlife and give the sense of stumbling onto a Lost World.

I was very disappointed as they advertise no fee charges for bookings but when I checked my account I realised that they charged me half of the fee. I contacted them and they told me that was to secure my booking... I cancelled but I haven't received my money back yet.

Receptionist Jose needs a customer service and “smile to people” course urgently. He doesn’t have empathy or a good way of saying things. The girl from admin was very friendly and she explained things in a nice and accurate way. I’m not staying here because I’m traveling with 4 new born kittens (3 weeks old) which are in a little kennel. Understood but not happy with the lack of empathy

Hotel Luna Caribe is the only of its kind to offer the best rooms, one of the largest pools in Chetumal, the best gym, parking and security 24 hours a day.
Excelente servicio, su precio sube en periodo vacacional, por lo demás es muy confortable y muy buen servicio, muy cerca de la zona libre, el único inconveniente que no hay nada cercano, por lo que hace el hotel casi privado.

Rooms are nice and spacious; very clean with AC and heat and cold shower. The pool is as good as it looks in the pictures. The hotel is within 5 minutes drive of Wal-Mart and 10 minutes of the mall. The big drawback is the Internet. It sucks in the rooms! And the kids hate it because of that. As parents, we don't mind too much and the price is exceptional for all the amenities. But if the Internet doesn't improve, the kids will exercise their veto power the next time we have to decide on a hotel to stay in Chetuamal.

I couldn’t help but to give my wife a treat for her birthday. She’s stick with me through thick & thin. So we headed to Chetumal and hotel ABH was the destination hotel. The rooms are spacious and my wife loved the place. Of course since both of us could not speak Spanish, communication was a bit of a challenge but thanks to GOOGLE translate. Amazing how that app helps you to get by. Hotel ABH is a great vacation place. Clean, neat, beds well made, central, great staff and yeah, they had a mini gym where you can loose some weight! Except for the WiFi strength that doesn’t reach some parts of the hotel. Everything is what you should expect of a great vacation hotel. Because it was December, the entire hotel was beautifully decorated and beautiful. Keep up the great works hotel ABH!

A lot of noises, a lot of light coming from the hall (no courtains). The first night we were waked up at 4, then at 6 and then at 7 because of the really loud noises. The second night at 5:30 there was loud music. I went out of the room to check: was the receptionist, looking videos on the computer. I asked if it was normal, she stopped. I won’t be back there.

Mayan Secret combines the beauty of nature with comfort. Enjoy the elegance of the gardens and the luxury of the bedrooms. Located in a strategic point at the South of Quintana Roo, between Chetumal and Bacalar, Mayan Secret is ideal for adventure and ecotourism. The hotel also offers its facilities for any special event, wedding receptions and a chapel for religious ceremonies.
It was booked the room with 2 beds for 3 adults trough the booking.com. When we came staff have took the payment as it was ordered but then they offered the room with only one bed because our room was busy. It wasn't acceptable to us and we have ordered the other hotel. The accaunter promised by the phone to make money back in one day. After 10 days we have came back to check the progress. Nothing was done. Now after one day more we are in negotiations with them with zero effect. Hope yet. Be careful. But I haven't recieved the refund yet.

We were traveling from Palenque to Mahahual overnight on a bus and arrived in Chetumal early in the morning. Our hotel in Mahahual would not be ready until the afternoon, so we decided to get a room in Chetumal and rest a little before going on to Mahahual. Our bus trip ended in one bus terminal and we needed to get to the other terminal in order to catch the next bus and decided to find a room near the bus station. This hotel is across the street from the bus terminal we would be leaving from. I did not see the room before it was paid for-my husband went in while I waited in the taxi (big mistake on my part lol). Needless to say, it was awful-it was not clean-the bed felt as if it had a piece of wood under the old and nasty bedspread. the room was like a cave and the walls were filthy (see the pics I took). I was so tired from our overnight bus ride that I felt like crying. We stood in the room for about 5 minutes and walked out. Got another hotel (much better!-see my review) instead. Didn't even ask for our money back-it was only $16.

This hotel has spacious rooms with good AC, warm water shower, comfy bed, TV, and basically everything you need for a good price. There is even free coffee and cookies in the morning. It is located a little further away from everything else. The room was not properly cleaned. Would I stay here again? Maybe not.
