Comfortable, cozy, and family managed, the hotel was once the owner’s family home and is inspired by a rustic ‘Tica House’ design. Guests are encouraged to treat the lodge as their home. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to cater to the individual needs of guests. From booking tours, transportation, and local restaurants, to providing delicious homecooked breakfasts, we go the extra mile to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
we had a last minute emergency and the property honored our reimbursement. Other properties were not as understanding. In this day and age with everything going on in the world, more places should operate with the excellent customer service and human understanding that Camino Verde does. We did not get to take advantage of this beautiful property but we plan to certainly return one day and we will absolutely make up for this loss. THANK YOU AGAIN! <3

Weezie's Ocean Front Hotel and Garden Cottages is a boutique hotel with 18 units. There are 13 rooms on the oceanfront property and 5 garden cottages 2 blocks inland. All the units except the standard room have full kitchens. The hotel features 3 pools and long 250 ft pier which is a great spot to enjoy the sun and sea. There are kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear, fishing poles and a canoe to use free of charge. The facilities are first rate but what sets Weezie's apart is the full time staff of 12 who are there to make your vacation memorable.
I could stay in the rooms for a month -- good amount of space, full kitchen, tv with netflix, and STRONG AC made it extremely comfortable. We also took the private snorkel tour with John, which is a MUST DO. John was able to point out so many cool wildlife and facts, and was great company for the full-day trip. Just remember to reapply your (reef safe) sunscreen between every dive or you backs and legs are going to regret it :')

We stayed for a few days and had a terrific time. The grounds are very nice and the new cabins were very comfortable. Whoever decided to include bunk beds was inspired and allowed us to avoid the inevitable squabbles among our children when they have to share a bed. The food was very good and had a varied selection. The pool was beautiful and the walk to the beach took about 30 seconds. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

On San Pedro’s north edge, experience a private paradise at Blue Tang Inn, one of the town’s most charming beachfront inns. Fourteen exquisite suites each offer full kitchens and air conditioning. Relax by the private pool or rejoice on the third floor sundeck with inspiring panoramas of the ocean and reef. Set your own schedule for amazing daily activities such as diving & snorkeling, fishing tours, sea kayaking, numerous inland tours and omnipresent romance during your stay.
I loved the Blue Tang Inn, it was small & quaint. The people that work there are very happy to help you with anything that you need to make your stay more enjoyable. It was very convenient to stores & restaurants. We had a hiccup in traveling there, our 1st flight of the day was cancelled, but Emilse, was very helpful in arranging new flights with Tropic Air for the next day. Lionel & Giovanni (hope I spelled it right) made sure that everything was properly working & clean. They were very entertaining as they caught iguanas. Marlon is very knowledgeable in all things to do with the island. Fanny the manager & Elizabeth made you feel very welcome! All in all everyone was very friendly & helpful. I would highly recommend staying with them. We will definitely stay @ the Blue Tang again!!!

Minus 1 star for mediocre onsite restaurant. Waitstaffs and open air restaurant vibe were excellent but food was bland and uninteresting. I had a dinner & 3 breakfasts there. I repeated the breakfast meals only because it was included, & I was able to pre-order the day before. Pre-ordering really help since it takes 30-45 minutes to get your food otherwise. We had ordered 3 steak and egg for the 1st breakfast and only the eggs were edible. All 3 steaks were chewy-rubbery and had almost a rancid taste. Needless to say, none of us ate the steaks after the first 2 bites. We stayed with the safer choice of oatmeal and the stuff fry jacks after that. Portions were generous but we wasted food because nothing was especially tasty. Minus the 2nd star because the property did not live up to its expensive rate with direct booking. I was charged $2731 USD for 3 nights & 2 casitas. The rooms were basic and did not look like the website pictures. One safe did not work & the 2nd safe ran out of battery the 2nd day, requiring me to wait in the room while handyman replace the batteries. There were tiny little white bugs around the counter above the mini-refrigerator. I did not put my items on counter space or touching walls to avoid transporting any unwanted passengers. I did not report the buggy issue since bugs are to be expected in a tropical clime and there were only about 5 dozen bugs scurrying about. The water pressure was low and tepid for the outdoor tub and shower. It was not relaxing to soak in a tub of lukewarm water while trying to commune with nature. Thank goodness the indoor shower only has the low pressure issue. Some of the pool loungers are stained & has rips with the stuffing visible. The pool was tiny and the water was cloudy, hopefully from over-chlorination and nothing else. Cleaning staff was awesome & the room was cleaned twice a day. I drove 5 min to the Rumor Resort next door and gave them a bag of 25 articles for washing at 2PM & requested a 6PM pickup. They were glad to do it for $10USD. I did not even enquired at Ka'ana since I had read in a review that the resort charges $3-5 USD per piece. This brings me to my next point. You need a car when staying at Ka'ana otherwise you are at their mercy regarding food and laundry. It is outside of San Ignacio. Luckily, it is very simple to drive in Belize. You only have a handful of highways that are 1 way in each direction, making navigation around the country simple. There are very few cars on the road since gas is about $6.5/G and minimum wage is $1.65/h. There are frequent speed humps so you can't race anywhere.Going above 10mph over the higher speed bumps will launch you with a rather jarring landing. Even driving on unpaved roads to the San Ignacio garden, to meet up with our guide at the ATM, or to the Coxcomb Jaguar Preserve were not problematic in the 4 wheel drive. I think a teen with a learner permit can handle these roads. I am not an adventurous driver & would not attempt to drive in Bangkok or would only reluctantly drive in NYC. Don't expect luxury at Ka'anna. It was a poor choice but Cha Creek was sold out when I booked 1 month in advance. Luckily, my 2 other bookings for San Pedro & Hopkins were less expensive but were 5/5.

Playa Negra Guesthouse is a small beach front hotel located on Playa Negra of Cahuita, on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, one kilometer north of the centre of the town of Cahuita. Opened in December 2008, the hotel offers upper scale accommodation consisting of three lovely, fully equipped Caribbean style cottages, three tastefully decorated guest rooms, swimming pool and pool house. The cottages and rooms overlook lush, carefully maintained gardens. Some unit have A/C.
We spent six nights at Playa Negra Guesthouse and absolutely loved it! The owners, Marise and Pierre, are kind, very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. They are enthusiastic in pointing out and teaching about the animals and plants on the property. We saw sloths, multiple bird varieties, frogs and heard monkeys. The gardens with pool area is stunningly beautiful and peaceful. The Playa Negra beach and ocean are just steps out the door from the guesthouse. Our room was lovely, meticulously clean and refreshed every day. It was an easy walk to the amazing Parque Nacional Cahuita, multiple restaurant choices and small grocery stores. My favorite memory is sitting on our veranda in the morning, drinking coffee, and listening to both the ocean waves lapping the shoreline and howler monkeys in the trees! We did not have a car and didn't need one. The owners arranged for a driver from San Jose for us. One day we took a local bus to Manzanillo and Punta Uva. It is also easy to arrange for a cab. We LOVED our stay at Playa Negra Guesthouse!!

We are just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Pacific Ocean and within easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, grocery, and other services. Our villas feature fully equipped kitchens, air conditioning, cable TV, telephone, internet connection, in-room safes, and 24 hour security. We offer a perfect and safe place from which to explore the many attractions of the area, or for relaxing in the swimming pool and inviting jacuzzi.
My son and I stayed a Villas Kalimba for 5 days at the end of May and I can not say enough good things about it. This Small boutique hotel across a tiny (not busy) street to the beach, has everything one could want for a beach vacation. The villas are well appointed and very clean. The staff (especially Diego) are so accommodating. Town is easily accessible by foot yet the Villas somehow seem removed. I can't wait to return.

We are located in Santa Teresa, about 1.5 miles from Mal Pais’ main cross road, inside a gated property, on a private and quiet location, off the street yet in the middle of everything, 5 minutes walk from groceries stores, bakery, pizza places, 7-8 restaurants, yoga centers, and with beach access only 500ft from here.
Lovely hotel, great location, delicious breakfast, great rooms, super clean and tranquil. The beautiful pool area felt like a premium experience on a reasonable budget. Staff were really helpful when it came to arranging excursions and airport shuttles. My one complaint is that there are no reception staff at night and after 9pm you need a key code to get back in. This wouldn’t be an issue except that one night we got back after a power cut earlier in the evening and the keypad had stopped working even after the power came on. We were locked out of the hotel and it was doubly stressful as it was our last night and we were due to be picked up at 6:30am to be taken to the airport. So all our belongings, including passports, were trapped inside and we were trapped outside. We called the only contact number we had for any hotel staff and there was no answer - and it was only about 9:30, not the middle of the night. In the end I managed to climb into the hotel by scaling the 9 foot door in the perimeter wall and crawling through a small gap in the top of it, and letting my boyfriend in from the inside. However if this happened to a party that didn’t contain someone agile enough to climb the gate and small enough to fit through the gap above the door, it could have resulted in a night sleeping on the beach and a very expensive, long journey back to the UK if we’d missed our flight. I only bring this up so that the hotel are aware of it and can come up with a solution to the problem (maybe an emergency number that guests can call outside of reception hours) as it was an otherwise perfect stay!

The Golden Frog Inn is a piece of paradise here in El Valle de Anton. Newly remodeled in early 2020, the villa's larger guest units are now equipped with fully stocked kitchens and cable TVs to better accommodate guests for longer stays. The villa is located in a very quiet, peaceful area of El Valle. The 42 foot pool, the sunsets, and spectacular bird watching make for a wonderful tropical get-away. We know you will enjoy your stay at the Golden Frog Inn. Come and share the beauty of this beautiful villa and community with us.
My wife and I stayed there last week and it was just wonderful experience. The staff were friendly, beautiful premises, rooms were clean and well appointed. We had a wonderful, large shower. Breakfast was included. Also had dinner and drinks in the evening. It was just lovely. I would definitely recommend staying. Plan on going back and will definitely be staying at The Golden Frog Inn.
