So this was the cheapest place we stayed in by more than half and yes it wasn't as luxurious as others but still a very comfortable, clean stay with everything needed. Actually it we thought it was worth more than the £45 we paid. Large room with actually the comfiest bed we slept in in Puglia. Huge bathroom and a lovely balacony. Everything was spotlessy clean. The best part of all is Rossana, a wonderful host, a bit of a language barrier but we still managed to have conversations in our own languages and we really felt she wanted to take care of us. Her breakfasts were delcious, one of the best we had and the breakfast room had beautiful views of the coast. This place far exceeded my expectations for the price. Yes its cheap and cheerful but really don't need anything more than a clean room, comfy bed and yummy breakfast. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and a wonderful welcome. We also like thr location, 2 min walk to the old town and only 20 min walk to the grotto. Quiet area and lovely to see the nonnas out chatting on the street, sewing and peeling veg. And the all old gents meeting in the centre for a discussion. Felt like a real slice of Italian life.

We spent 3 nights at La Rosa Antica, and cannot speak too highly of it. The location is good, and an easy walk to the marina, with good restaurants nearby. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast was magnificent, and changed each day to suit our preferences. But it was the wonderful welcome that we received from our hostess that was the highlight. Maria basically accepted us into her family, and could not have been more helpful. Don't miss this opportunity to join a warm Italian home environment.

We stayed at b&b Zahir for four nights and we are more than pleased with everything from the location to the staff and everything in between. The beds are comfortable, which is not very common in Italy. The breakfast is on the sweet side, yet delicious with new additions every morning. Our room was very clean, modern and spacious, with a huge balcony! Even though this b&b is not situated right at the marina, a very convenient bus takes you down to the marina for only 1€. The bus stops just hundred meters from the entrance to b&b Zahir and takes you down the hills in no time at all All in all, great value for money and an extremely nice stay. We will be back, and gladly recommend you to stay here while exploring beautiful Puglia.

Castro "Perla del Salento", a city rich in history and culture, anciently founded by the Messapians that with their massive walls and the temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, inspired Virgil have Aeneas landing on the shores of this majestic city. A few steps from the walls, is the B & B "A casa di Giordy" a cozy place to enjoy the sea in this beautiful land, without feeling the tourist hustle, because it is located in a very quiet area of the town. It has all the services less than a mile away, easily accessible because it is well connected to the main roads of the town. Distance from Lecce is about 45km, being this way the ideal starting point for the "exploration" of the most typical sites of Salento. A picturesque view of the sea to complement your stay in these places, made of flavors, scents and warmth that only those who were born in this land knows. A casa di Giordy, you will feel right at home The rates include: -Breakfast; -Fitted bed linen and towels; -Daily cleaning; -Change of towels every 2 days; -Bed linen changed every 3 days; -Shower; -Mirror-trick; -drying rack; -free parking.
We found the B&B ‘A Casa di Giordy’ while looking for a place to stay during our car trip in Salento. Unfortunately, only one night seemed to be available when we tried to book. We decided to call and ask for an extra night, and we were rewarded with kindness, incredible hospitality, an extra night in Castro and even a wonderful breakfast the when we arrived on Tuesday early morning. The host, Assuntina, is a wonderful kind lady who makes amazing ‘pasticciotto Leccese’ with amarena cherries and will be able to give you the best suggestions to visit the area. We spent three perfect days in Salento and will definitely return to Assuntina and her delicious pies for breakfast! Big hug, Alan & Antoinette

Note, my review is of the restaurant attached to the hotel, not of the hotel itself. My wife and I were on an all day tour of the Salento on Saturday August 20, 2016 and while my wife went swimming in the nearby harbor I had a late lunch here. I had frutti di mare, specifically fried calamari and prawns and two glasses of local white wine. The restaurant was conveniently located just off the harbor. The server was very prompt and the quality of the food and wine was very good and at a reasonable price. We plan on returning to Castro for a longer visit and will definitely return here for another meal.
