The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

We chose the Kyah as we were playing golf at Blackheath GC and were curious to see how they had updated the old Redleaf Resort. They have done a very nice update and we had a lovely stay. We used our NSW vouchers so cost was only $140….is it worth $240 …..which is the usual rate….I’m not sure how it compares with other places in that regard. Everyone was very friendly and we had a fabulous meal at Blaq (separate review). The room was spacious and comfortable although I found the pillows far too big. The lighting in the bathroom was a bit too dark. The lady in the restaurant Jessica was fantastic and will be in my review of the restaurant. I’m sure once all the landscaping is done it will also look lovely from the outside. In my opinion one of the best assets is Digger the Kelpie who met us at the car and was around quite a bit outside for cuddles and just a fabulous calm beautiful dog. I would recommend and definitely stay again.

A real nod to the character of the 1930s and 40s, dark and moody. We had a comfortable stay for two nights in a Queen room with a hot breakfast included. The room was cosy given that the original design and concept was kept true to the era but all the amenities were included. The bed was very comfortable and the linen crisp and clean. The bathroom was spacious. The hot breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Items were topped up by the staff when you requested. Hard to beat for $19 each. Check in experience was what I expected. Staff were pleasant and engaging and explained everything in detail. A venue true to it's rating. Would stay there again

Built in 1892, The Chalet Guesthouse and Studio is a luxury accommodation venue of 4 star quality set in extensive private gardens in the quiet village of Medlow Bath. The Chalet is only minutes from the major attractions of Wentworth Falls, Leura, Katoomba, Blackheath and Mt Victoria. It is close to the historic Jenolan Caves and is an ideal base for bush walking, sight-seeing, boutique shopping, fine dining or exploring the complex diversity of the Blue Mountains and its environs. Our restaurant can be available if booked in advance. The interior is a private art gallery with an extensive private collection on display.
The Chalet is a beautiful historic building. Staying there is like a step back in time. The walls are covered in wonderful paintings and art works. The owners both named David were very warm, welcoming and friendly. We liked the big open fire, so cosy on a cold night. The rooms were comfortable and the decor was the same old world style. All in all, a greatly superior experience to staying in a motel. It was also located in a quiet but convenient street. We would definitely stay there again.

A peaceful tranquil garden setting, a comfortable, gracious room with beautiful balcony and sparkling clean ensuite, this guesthouse is totally charming. It even has its own restaurant, Silks, within the guesthouse, which is a treat to dine in. And the breakfast that is included in the price is delicious, with fresh fruit, home made granola and rhubarb compote, then eggs cooked however you choose. We had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend Silvermere.

For the price I thought the experience would be slightly better. No milk or soap in the rooms. But they had a kettle and coffee set up which was strange. Breakfast at was average. Wet cutlery, no serviettes, had to scrap your plate and clean the table afterwards. Beds were comfy and showers were great. Communal area is good for kids with board games etc. parking convenient. Probably fine for one night but I wouldn’t want to be here any longer. Felt a bit school camp like.

The hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere with a full array of services such as 17 Guest Rooms, function rooms, public and saloon bars and the best Bistro in the mountains. Recently renovated the Grand View now boasts a lovely outdoor eating area where you can enjoy a delicious meal or a cool drink. For a charming romantic getaway in the heart of the Blue Mountains, and the perfect place to relax after a day bush walking the majestic Wentworth Falls or 18 holes of golf, come and enjoy a cool drink or a delicious meal at the Grand View Hotel.
My wife and I stayed in a 'family room with bathroom'. The room was nice and clean with a very good bathroom. As can be seen from the photos the room does not have any chairs but the bed is very comfortable and there's a good modern TV on the wall. Naturally as it is right on the Great Western Highway there is some road noise but it was not excessive. We ate in the Bistro and the food was excellent. We will definitely stay again.

We recently stayed in Lithgow. I pulled into the Parkside. First mistake. The women at the counter, I found rude. We arrived at our room ant found that it was tiny. The fridge on the floor was turned off and half of the lights didn't work. The restaurant was closed because of staff shortages so no food. Although was a KFC across the road. Terrible nights sleep. Beds terrible.!!!! In the morning our daughter was a bit slow getting ready. We received a visit by the same women who I take it is the boss. Telling us that check out was10am. The time was 10.15am. Quite rude as seems to be the case in other reviews. We left here shaking our heads and feeling ripped. Never again.

The place was clean and warm which was needed as the weather was freezing. The hosts were so friendly and helpful which made our stay so much easier. Nothing was any trouble. The house was awesome so vintage with so many things to look at. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with many rooms to make your stay more enjoyable. The breakfasts were varied and appetising with many choices to suit everyone. I would recommend it to everyone.
