Hello my name is yunier Vivo I'm propiertor of casa vivo in SOROA. My house have a two rooms, one twin and the second triple, any room have independent bathroom with hot water the 24th. Minibar service and air conditioning. Parking and a beautiful garden . we have a lunch, dinner and breakfast service too, laundry service and taxi reservation.
We stayed for 2 nights in January. Yunior was a welcoming and attentive host, who helped us make the most of our time in the Cuban countryside. The room was spotless and the food was great served al fresco in Yunior's beautiful garden. Day 1 Yunior drove us to Soroa and picked us up at the end of the afternoon. We had lunch, visited the Orchid gardens & waterfalls. Day 2 we took a private tour to Las Terrazas, which was very interesting. Back in Soroa we walked to the top of the hill - path starts between the bar and restaurant opposite the Orchid gardens, for stunning views north over the Sierra del Rosario. It was a beautiful walk back to Casa Vivo, where the hummingbirds welcomed us on Yunior’s drive.

This is a farmhouse with rooms. It is quite rustic but clean & the price reflects that. The room was very basic with a cold water tap only to the sink and an electric water heated shower which I wasn't sure about the safety regulations & didn't reallly heat up enough for us! It is a long way out of the town but the owner or his uncle will provide a taxi service in their 1950's classic car There is no internet. They arranged for a 3 hour hike into the forest which we both thoroughly enjoyed & we also spent 4 hours in Soroa - waterfall & orchid farm Due to its location we ate in the farmhouse & they cooked us a nice meal of chicken, plantain & salad for 8 CUC. The breakfast was good - fruit, bread & eggs plus coffee for 5 CUC As stated above the people are lovely, & I think that a little bit more money upgrading the bathrooms in particular would in my opinion then not only generate the 5th star but I would have willingly paid more for it as it was a true "homestay"

Lisi, the host, is only but smile and friendliness. The rooms are very clean, spacious and located in a nice garden. Despite the proximity of the road, it is very quiet. The breakfast was tasty and copious. The Soroa waterfall is nearby. Bring euros to be able to enjoy the tasty meal prepared by the host!

Soroa is perfectly suited to explore the amazing nature in the western part of Cuba. We stayed two nights in this Casa and were totally satisfied with our room and the service of Tito. Breakfast and dinner we’re really excellent. Tito organized a tour for us with a very good guide in Las Terrazas for bird watching. Thank you!

We stayed here two nights. Our room was very clean and very comfortable, with aircon, fridge, ensuite and a small terrace and great views. The location is a smallholding, quiet and relaxing, and all the food is home grown. We enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners, which were generous and well-presented Cuban food. Ana was a great cook and a very friendly host. Thank-you Ana.

I only spent one night in Las Terrazas but Juanita and her family made sure I got the most out of it. Her son-in-law Yudel gave me a warm welcome and sorted out my transport to and from the park. He was also happy to arrange for me to go on a guided tour the following day at a reasonable rate. His brother-in-law was on hand to ferry me to and from the park when I needed it, and advise me on entrance fees. He was very friendly and full of anecdotes but it helps, as elsewhere in Cuba, if you speak Spanish(!). Juanita herself was born and grew up in Las Terrazas, so a true local. I bumped into her sister-in-law (or could have been sister) in the park later that day, where she still lives. Las Terrazas is the perfect place to spend a few days if you like nature, swimming in the river or lake, hanging out with the locals. It seemed like a very peaceful, laid back place to me after Havana. I didn't spend much time in the house but guests had the run of most of the top floor and a pleasant roof terrace. The room was simple but clean. The bed was comfortable. There was a well stocked fridge in a guest lounge area. The evening meal and breakfast were large and tasty. The night sky from the back of the house was amazing - rarely seen so many stars. As far as booking, my host in Havana called up for me a day or two before I visited. You have to travel a long way to get to La Altura where Marlen, Eduardo and their grown up son Anyelo runs their lovely Casa Abella (casa particular) amidst fields with cattle, horses, sheep and native birds. The accommodation that sits on first floor with a private terrace with a grand view over the area and the mountain range is basic but spacious. Meals can be arranged on a daily basis and is served in the family's own dining area. The real treat is to be with this warm, caring and family. You can partake in the day-to-day farm life or enjoy your days on the nearby beach (1+ km away). There are no shops, restaurants in the vicinity so bring the things you can't be without.

3 comfortable rooms with en suite bathrooms and views of the forest and hills around Soroa.
Malgré une arrivée tardive et une erreur de date de réservation de l'agence, accueil très chaleureux et convivial. Belle localisation, chambre propre et spacieuse, grande salle de bain et douche. Repas très copieux, nos hôtes étaient aux petits soins. Merci
