We stayed in the Celtic Manor Resort Hotel for one night for a joint 30th birthday couples trip away. Spa~ Us girls started off with coffees in the main bar and spent the first day at the resort Forum Spa. We did have a slight issue with our booking but it was sorted quickly and without a problem, staff in the spa very helpful. I booked a spa package with Forum massage which was a full body massage and it was very good. the spa reception was busy but during our time in the relaxation rooms and pool areas it was quiet and relaxing. I really liked the private ladies only spa area. I also had the spa buffet lunch in the cafe which consisted of a range of salads, chicken, salmon and desserts drinks were not included though but we had access to drinks in the spa. Golf~ The boys had booked packages to play the Twenty Ten golf course and really enjoyed it, they especially liked the engraved bag tag and they enjoyed the chance to win a round of gold / membership. Dinner~ In the evening we went for buffet dinner at The Olive Tree and I can say even though there wasn’t a huge selection, it was one of the best tasting buffets I’ve been to. It was all hot and seasoned well. The service was great, plates being cleared straight away and food being refilled quickly. The roast section being my favourite. We then had drinks over in the bar and listened to the pianist which was enjoyable. The bar staff did get our drinks wrong but it was quickly sorted. Room~ The only reason I have not given this hotel a 5 rating is due to the rooms. We had standard rooms but I’ve stayed in better 4 star hotels. The care and attention is not 5 star. The shower had clumps of black hair, the sink was cracked, there wasn’t any body wash I just had 2 shampoos, I’d expect a better supply of toiletries. No bottles of water?! Ive stayed at many 4 stars and had glass bottle water in the room as standard. Our 2nd room had a mini fridge that did not open and they didn’t have an ice bucket. Couldn’t see a pillow menu either. We did have a great view out the front towards the bridge though and it was quiet. Breakfast~ Again we had the buffet breakfast in the Olive Tree restaurant. Again great quality food on offer and we really enjoyed it. Good selection of pastries and juices / hot drinks. Adventure Golf~ We played the 18 holes of adventure golf and loved it! Definitely a must do if staying, it was good fun and very quiet. Car parking~ We paid £8.50 x 2 for 24 hours parking as we had 2 cars. I’d understand paying for parking if in the centre of a big city but I can’t understand the charge for hotel guests to park, day guests yes I can understand. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we would return.

We have recently spent a lovely relaxing week at Caerwylan having stayed there several times over the past few years. The hotel is superbly positioned with stunning views over the bay and beyond. Every aspect of Caerwylan is first class including friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and spacious bedrooms, excellent decor throughout, great food at both breakfast and evening meal in the lovely restaurant. We look forward to returning again to this wonderful hotel.

The Royal Victoria Hotel Snowdonia is nestled at the foot of the spectacular Llanberis Pass under the shadow of Snowdon itself on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. It is set within 30 acres of gardens and woodland, cradled between Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris. This is an ideal location in the heartland of North Wales for a breathtaking and memorable stay. Rooms are spacious with all modern amenities. The Hotel offers three restaurants, bar, residents lounge, five meeting/conference rooms and ample car parking.
Arrived in a cold and damp day. The reception we received was just the same. The lift was broken so was faced with walking up 3 flights of stairs with heavy cases ( we were on a road trip) . We opted to grab an overnight bag and glad we did. The room was quite a way from the reception with over 50 stairs each way with king corridors i between The bar and restaurant was good although staff stood around talking for most of the night and not attentive to ours or others needs. The food, however, was outstanding and very tasty. Our room was clean and very nice. Our view was overlooking the gardens. The bathroom had a bath and shower with soap and plenty of towels. Breakfast was good. A vast variety of foods for all tastes. The host and lady serving the hot buffet were the only friendly people throughout the entire hotel Overall, the service lets this hotel down. Beautiful surroundings and location with nice rooms unfortunately the staff just are not friendly

Had a queen refurbed room and it was spotless! Curtains are black out. Facilities of pool, steam room, sauna and gym were really good! Have to book slots but staff were flexible around timings if quiet. Staff friendly and always happy to help. Refurb in place but didn’t affect us and it was made clear throughout. Jacuzzi is closed but you are advised upon booking. Restaurant menu is pants but the bar menu is much better. Bridgend is worth a visit near by for nightlife and a Italian restaurant called colosseo. The riverside walk near by is well worth a visit! If you go along and then down the steps to the walk there’s ducks and beautiful views. The four waterfalls are 50 minute drive away but very worth a visit. Breakfast is expensive but McDonald’s is round the corner! I think you may be a bit disappointed if you got one of the non refurbed rooms. Would advise closing until refurb is fully complete to get it done quicker. Lovely stay thank you

The staff are wonderful. I made the biggest mistake on the busiest weekend of the year. I accidentally booked a single room for 1 person and a dog, when I thought I had booked a double for 2 people and a dog. The lady on reception could not have done more too accommodate us. They rearranged the room to put another bed in for us and it all worked out perfectly. We had a wonderful stay and felt incredibly welcome, our dog got a sausage at breakfast each morning and slept through the night. Think she liked the cosy room. Thank you ?

The reception is really nice, as well as too location on the seafront and by the beach. However, beyond ground floor the hotel is in urgent need of updating. The decor and rooms are dated and shabby. Carpet in the bathrooms & scruffy paint work. It was clear that room has not had not been updated for decades. Real shame as it’s a nice spot.
