Yoga on the beach!

Reviewed By Hailz1985

I took morning yoga with Manolo while I was staying at Iberostar Cozumel. We were right on the beach, listening to the waves! I was super excited, and Manolo did not disappoint. His class was a nice combination of relaxing and challenging. I really appreciated how he said almost everything in English and Spanish! As someone who has forgotten most of the Spanish I previously learned, that was very impressive. He also works in the gym and teaches Zumba in the afternoon. He must be a busy man! I was so bummed I couldn’t join in Zumba, but I was leaving the day I took yoga. So glad I at least got to do yoga on the beach before leaving! Thank you Manolo!

(Tried to retrieve my draft - THERE was the review!) ........ Fabulous, all-inclusive, spotless, upscale, marble-floored resort offering sumptuous dining in well-appointed dining rooms [three, separate restaurants] or open-air settings, practically around-the-clock (as well as delicious room service). We're Breckenridge timeshare ppl - arranged thru Interval International. This establishment has it all in a casually comfortable yet elegant environment. Impressive lobby and lounge level was spacious yet inviting. The multi-leveled pool area is well organized such that many can enjoy without crowding. Entertainment during the day at the pool was very good and varied, the snorkeling was even exceptionally good (iron-shore right off property with easy stairs access). Evening entertainment was very good, nightly. The staff was top-notch, exceptionally friendly and hard-working to graciously meet your every need: Marahi, Jennifer, Johnny, Julio, Eddie, Alan, Argenis, Dora, Saul, Jorge - others whose names elude me now. Housekeeping was impeccable and so friendly; toiletries were top-shelf and generous in quantity (deluxe robes & slippers awaited you). We're re-thinking the all-inclusives based on this resort (we often go VRBO around the Caribbean); we've booked again already with Cozumel Palace. The one price even included some USD credits for a few extra activities: 10 of 10! Don't miss this resort.

Wonderful service led to a great experience!

We had a wonderful time at Cozumel Hotel and Resort. The staff at the hotel really shine with smiles, hard work, excellence and attention to detail. Emire Lopez with guest services was so helpful to change a room for us due to a back problem. She treats everyone with such care and respect. She feels like part of our family and always greets us when we arrive and this time she met our whole family- kids and grandkids too. Keira Valdez is the best server in the world! She works hard running orders for food and drink at the pool. She remembers our names, all 13 of us and always gets the orders right. Amazing! She laughs and jokes with us and we enjoy seeing her everyday. Luisa and Sylvia are also such nice servers. Cornelio, at the Los Girasoles restaurant, has a special place in our hearts. He greets us personally whenever we come and we share our latest family experiences until we meet again. He pays attention to detail and is a master server and friend. Manual and the other servers and cooks do a great job. Breakfast and lunch are our favorite meals! Dive Paradise right at the hotel makes it easy to schedule scuba dives and take care of gear. Angelo is another friend we greet fondly. He and his staff work hard to make the dives great. Denise was the dive master for our grandsons first boat dive and made it a fantastic experience. Although the weather was rainy, we managed to have a wonderful time due to this great staff. The pool is a great feature enjoyed by the children. The rooms were kept very clean with thanks to the maids. They decorated our bed with swan towel art and flowers for our anniversary along champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Nice surprise. The beds are comfortable. I hope the Wyndham will continue to upgrade all of the rooms to walk in showers as the ancient bathtubs/showers are very difficult to get in and out of and bring down the overall rating of the hotel. New dressers would be a plus. This is an excellent choice for a hotel- close to town, clean, friendly, safe, fun and reasonable.

Still the best hotel on the island!

Reviewed By akdeepdiver

The El Presidente has been our Resort hotel of choice for the past 22 years. Not having been back for the last 2 years because of COVID, not much has changed, still maintaining the excellent service, the upkeep and cleanliness of the grounds and all public areas. Employees that have been there for a while all recognize us with warm greeting. Our favorite room (very centrally located) that we request year after year 5109 still in great condition. All employees of the hotel have mask requirements. All room amenities all individual wrapped. Housekeeping service is upon request with a specific time and you must me out of the room when they clean. We requested everyday at 12:00. The gym that I used on the days I was not diving was clean, plenty of wipes, spray cleaner, individually wrap workout towels, waters and masks if you wanted. The pool area seating was very spread out, social distancing. The hotel took away a lot of seating, but strangely we always got seating for our group of 3. To note: we normally come in August this is the first time in May and it is much nicer if you are not interested in haven a ton of little kids around (which was always my concern). In addition, if you stay a certain amount of days, the hotel will provide upon appointment only, 2 COVID test per room free of charge to get back to the States. Still the best hotel on the island!

If I could give a zero I would. We’ve been coming to Cozumel/Explorean for over 6 years. Over the past six years we’ve watched the resort decline. As members this is very disappointing. This year we arrived to find the beach area is closed. Making the pools and the rest of the common areas congested. As members the we offered a Jeep as an inconvenience. We accepted and when we went to get our Jeep. We we’re given a bright yellow buggy that was on it’s last leg and smelled of booze. A really nice way to treat your member. Rooms are starting to be run down and smell of mold. Good quality and variety has gone down considerably. Good staff is being runoff because the resort penalizes them for taking care of the guests. Pizza oven hasn’t worked in 2 or 3 years. Excisions are getting worse each year. This is the first time I wish I haven’t joined the membership. Very very disappointed and this is only day two for us. I think we’re are coming with the terms that we will have to choose a different place to stay on the island. For all of you thinking about coming here learn from a member and rethink your choice.

Overdue praise! This was 30th year return to Coz and usually stay in homes or condos last 20 years. Decided to change it up this year with first week of 5 at PA. What a great decision. I arrived with an open head injury from the Cleveland airport and was immediately set up to get ER care at San Miguel Clinic by the manager, Yassir. I was given such care and concern by all. Geraldine's twin sister was my doc so I felt extra concern from her and also all waiters who watched out for me. Room was perfect. Meals were the same. We are returning in 2023!
