We cleared customs quickly, collected our bags & headed out to the Arrivals Hall; guess we were a bit too fast because no-one was waiting for us. Luckily the HotFiji Office is in the Arrivals Hall so no problem. Our driver was very informative & asked if we wanted to stop for any shopping, drinks, etc on the way. After a pleasant 25min drive we arrived at our Hotel. It was only when were were enjoying a wine with dinner we realised that in the confusion of the greeting we missed out on our shell Lei necklace. Other than that minor hi-cup, it was a great transfer.

We were on a cruise with Suva as our port of call. We signed up to go river tubing on the Nauva River. Somehow it seems everything in Fiji is undersold. It was so much more than river tubing. We took a longboat up stream to visit a village that is inaccessible except via the river. What was especially interesting was that there were no preplanned activities. We simply visited and observed daily life. Afterwards we walked into the jungle and swam under a magical waterfall. From there, lunch and then we boarded our inner tubes for a sometimes relaxing and sometimes a bit exciting ride through some rapids. The owner is a direct descendant of John Humphrey Danford the lone Englishman who lived live in the Namosi Highlands amongst the cannibal hill tribes in the 1800s. We really appreciated that the company is locally owned and proceeds go to support locally owned/operated businesses. Plus, the company pays a user fee to the native land owners to provide benefits directly to villagers in an effort to encourage their support of sustainable tourism. One more thought, tubing is for everyone. We are a couple in our 60's, but in our group was a family with the oldest 89. My only disappointment was they had sold out of t-shirts.

Never did this before and it was great. Welcomed with native songs. Then they bring a big container with the mud in it that you wipe over your body (you are not going into a pool to put the mud on and the mud was very smooth). After you walk around and let it dry... and get pictures you go into a pool of dirty water where you wash most if it off (there is about a foot of mud in the bottom of that pool). Then you go over to a very warm spring pool where they help hose off the remaining mud before getting in that pool. Very refreshing. Then they have mats to lie on and get a massage and then some fruit. A really nice experience

We really enjoyed our afternoon tour. Hotel pickup was on time, the vehicle was clean and comfortable. The tour was very enjoyable, we loved meeting all the wonderful people in the village, we had fun visiting the sites and hearing the stories and the history of the First Fijian Village. The Garden of the sleeping Giant is a beautiful location with breath taking landscape, the visit was fun and relaxing. Issach was our garden guide and he was so kind, very knowledgeable about all the plants in the garden. The fresh juice was so delicious too!

This review is lonnnng overdue. Last September 2019, my boyfriend and I took a trip to Fiji. We both were wanting to see and learn more about Nadi from a local, rather than just winging it on our own. I'm so happy that we found this tour with Rakesh through Tripadvisor. He was friendly and down to earth. The vehicle was comfortable, clean, and nice and cool with the A/C. He tailored the tour to what our interests were. He was not pushy and did not rush us while we were at each stop. I felt like we had made a new friend after this tour. I enjoyed the tour so much that I have written about it in my blog. Highly recommend!
