This port city of about 275,000 on Spain’s north coast began 3,000 years ago as a fishing village. Today it’s a departure point for regional cruises, making it busy in summer (and making us wonder what those ancient fisherman would have thought of cruise ships). The original village, Cimadevilla, with its narrow, cobblestone streets, draws many tourists, and Cerro de Santa Catalina park at the tip of Cimadevilla’s peninsula provides great coastal views.

This was the best surprise during our trip. We expected a quick walk through the stadium and a picture. We got so much more. It delivers everything it says on the website. The stadium was quite a walk so wear comfortable shoes. If you go in the winter (or a cooler day like we did) bring a warm jacket as the tunnels can be cold and breezy. That was the only minor inconvenience. Everything else was great. The tour delivers on it's promise and there's so much to see! I recommend setting aside 2-3 hours if you like to take your time and see all the history and do the audio tour. You get more out of it if you're into soccer or the team but is great even for the casual fan. Have fun with it and enjoy the day.

Debora was a fantastic guide for the El Camino Santiago!! She communicated with us before hand and kept us up to date. Explaining how to get to the cathedral could improve, but so minor in the whole experience. She was very knowledgeable about the Camino and sights along the way. I am 68 and in fair shape. The hike was a challenge, but she was very considerate and encouraging. I finished and it was an amazing experience. Plus, we had a beautiful day. Debora also had s walking stick for me that was a great help!
