Spent a half day here, lovely medieval town and not many tourists, mostly locals. Parking was easy, the castle was lovely (reminded me a bit of sleeping beauty's castle). The town is very clean, lots of little shops (not touristy shops) and restaurants, very helpful and friendly locals.

We really enjoyed our visit to the castle. The towers and ramparts offered great views of the town of Vitré and the beautiful countryside, while the rooms were interestingly furnished and very uncrowded. A great relief after the hordes at Mont Saint Michel.

This park is well worth a 30 minute stroll. There are many mature trees that have been carefully pruned and maintained. The flower beds are beautiful. There are a few caged animals for the kids, such as birds, as well as a play area. If the plants were identified this could almost pass for a botanical garden.

It's awsome to stand in the church and relize the history. You can feel the history talk to you as you stand and see the majistry of the place

Lots of imagination needed for the inside. You can wander in a few rooms inside the castle which displays a few articles from history & oddly some modern abstract art which doesn't seem to match but seeing the well preserved exterior of this castle draws your curiosity inside even though you've read other reviews of there not being much. I couldn't even find the stuffed frogs that another reviewer wrote about - I thought that might be fun to see.
