The shrine of Lord Mallikarjuna picturesquely situated on a flat top of Nallamalai Hills, Srisailam is reputed to be one of the most ancient kshetras in India. It is on the right side of the River Krishna in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. This celebrated mountain is also named as Siridhan, Srigiri, Sirigiri, Sriparvatha and Srinagam. It has been a popular centre of Saivite pilgrimage for centuries. The prominence of this Divya Kshetram is highlighted by the fact that while performing our daily household rituals we specify place of location of our existence with reference to Srisailam
Quite crowded in the evening and mornings. There are premium tickets – Rs. 150, Rs 300 and Rs 500. They reduce the time required proportionately for Darshan. However, in my case I took the Rs 300 tickets and found that Rs 150 line was shorter and much quicker. Abhishekam in which you enter the Garbhalya and offer water to Shivlinga is available at 3 particular timings 5.30 am, 12.30 pm and 6.30 pm for Rs 1500 per couple. Had free darshan and then went for abhishekam in the evening. Divine experience ! Temple has a huge campus with one Shaktipeeth temple also there. 4 gopurams in all directions. Tickets available for various slots during the day (gate 2). Cloak room also available outside gate 2. Prasad ladoos are available for nominal amount. They are good but nothing great.

Shivaji Maharaj Visited Srisailam in the year 1677. In the year 1974, the tri-centenary celebrations of Sree Shivaji maharaj’s coronation as “Chatrapati” were celebrated across the country. During that time this Spoorthy kendram was constructed by senior RSS leader, Sri Moreshwar Nilakanth Pingale, popularly known as Moropant ji along with Sri V. Ramamohana Rao who was editor of jagruthi telugu weekly magzine. Land for this memorial was given by AP endoment department under lease for 99 years to the Sri Sree Shivaji Memorial committee. To see all activities of the memorial, Sree Shivaji Memorial committee was formed and registered in the year 1975. This memorial was build by inspired from the Vivekananda rock of the Kanyakumari, hence one can see the similarities in steps and Dyana Mandhir between both. This was Designed by Sri Ganapathi Stapathi, the principal of college of architecture and sculpture, Mahabalipuram The memorial consists of a hall in the ground floor named as Samarth Sabha Mandapam and the first floor called as Darbar Hall. Very peaceful area for meditation and peace of mind. A bronze statue of Sree Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj is installed in the ground floor hall. Back side of the Statue there are shivajji constructed fort details with block diagram explanation Unfortunate thing is most of the Devotees who are coming to Srisailam are not aware of such a great place. Needs to showcase this monument in better way so that all are aware of this Memorial. Accommodation and Annadanam is also available in this Memorial

During a visit to Srisailam with parents, my dad told me that he would take me to a place that I would love and would enjoy the travel. The access to this place is controlled by forest department and visitors are allowed in vehicles (typically commanders) operated by the forest dept. These vehicles start from the main temple premises. The journey is crazy, with ups and downs, each tire of the vehicle on a different rock at times. Vehicle will be passing over the path made of big rocks, small rocks, gravel, mud, crossing streams of water and sometimes with steep gradients. My head hit the roof of the vehicles many times. During the onward journey, the driver gave a break while crossing a water stream. During the return journey, our vehicle got struck in mud at one point, all of us got down. I helped the driver to gather some plant stems, stones to place it under the tire for grip. After 20-30 mins of struggle, we could get the vehicle out. The final spot is also blissful and calm. It is a small temple where one has to kind of bend and go inside to take blessings from the Goddess of Desire.

After visiting the srisailam temple, on return we have visited this garden. Initially i thought it is not worthy for visit, but after visit i have changed the opinion. This garden is well maintained and there is a view point to see forests and river. For photography this place is best. In middle of the garden there is shiva ji statue (made of single stone) mighty one. In this garden there is rudrashka trees u can see. Chairs like arrangements are present one can sit and have bliss seeing nature. Some arrangements also present for children’s amusement. No entry fee and washrooms present. Photographer is present in this garden he can take pics and give u printout cost around 100-150rs. Must visit place to visit.

It's a small waterfall. It should have been more enjoyable if the water flow is more. Remember you have climb and get down more than 100 steps. If u have any issue or if you are coming with elderly people remember and make sure you make appropriate arrangements. It's a nice experience.
