Cadhay is a beautiful and historic Tudor manor house offering luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to 22 people, with three holiday cottages on-site providing additional accommodation for 12 – 14 people. The house is located at Ottery St Mary in the heart of rural East Devon, ten miles east of Exeter and six miles from the sea at Sidmouth. The house is licensed for Weddings and many couples have taken advantage of the Manor House and its grounds for their special day. We are also privileged to host many parties and gatherings of family and friends. Cadhay offers a blend of history and charm with the peace and tranquility of the Devon countryside.
Only open on Friday afternoons in the Summer … a beauitful Tudor manor house, superb grounds, very nice tea room with excellent home made cakes... Friday afternoons is 'changeover day' as the house is often rented out, the house tour covers those rooms which are rented out. The exterior of the house is stall largely Tudor and the inner courtyard is wonderful, the interior is of course heavily refurbished. A most enjoyable visit.

Wildwood Escot is known as the Natural Place for good reason. In the 220 acres of parkland, threatened native species such as the iconic red squirrel and the secretive water vole have found sanctuary in surroundings steeped in history and filled with beautiful plants and champion trees. Meet Wildwood Escot’s wolves, lynx, family of otters, stunning birds of prey and other amazing animals. There are woodlands to explore, wetlands to navigate, a maze to solve and so much more.
One of our favourite - and one of most relaxing - places in Devon! There is so much to see and to do at Wildwood - the walk through the forest is amazing, as are all the animals (red squirrels, otters, lynx, wild boars, wolves, birds of prey, etc.) and the Saxon village (they have a lovely selection of herbs to sell too). Very happy they are open again, and the staff have done amazingly preparing the park. Social distancing is well maintained, there are plenty of sanitiser stations and takeaway food. At the same time, it does not feel daunting at all - we still got to visit all the animals (including the newcomer, Arctic Fox called Lyra) and roamed the woods for a couple of hours. A must see!

First visit and amazed by the size of the complex selling what appeared to be everything . Plenty of Christmas items and some ideal stocking fillers . Did not really have time to look at plants . Good system for food, 2 queues , given a number and food served quickly .
