Tiny brick house where the inventor Thomas Edison was born. The museum features a collection of rare Edisonia, examples of many of Edison's early inventions, documents, & family mementos.
We decided to stop here on our way home from a trip to Sandusky. After stopping by the office to get our tickets, our guide walked us over to begin the tour of Edison's birthplace. Edison was born here and lived here until he was...MoreThank you so much for your review of your tour......now my job will be to find which of my employees told you that not much is known about Edison's first children! Thank you for coming and for your kind words. Cordially, Lois Wolf

The new home of Cameo pizza. Cameo is a near legendary name in pizza around the area and it is worth going just for that. They seem to be working on how they want to run their service and bar.
The food is limited to basically a pizza place menu, which is not bad but they could do with some better sandwiches and fish and pasta dishes.
This obviously was started as a place for golfers to grab a quick bite and a beer after golf. They need to go after it as a real restaurant or go back to just golfers and pizza.
They seem to have trouble with rushes and the bar serice is still trying to get a handle on how to run things. Service can be sketchy. That said if you want pizza and you are patient it's great.
I wish they would divide the place into a bar/restaurant side and a family pizza side, It would be easy as it is already partly divided, It just needs worked on so the kiddies can't see the drunks.
A good bar manager with a good budget could make the place work better also. The bar back area sucks, it would be hard to work in. They do carry a good amount of craft beer in bottles.
All in all I will go there for the pizza and stay for the beer.

Nine separate buildings make up this museum complex.
We came here after visiting Edison's birthplace, which is just a few steps away. In fact, one of the galleries here, the Galpin Gallery, is the former home of the doctor who delivered Edison. This is a museum complex consisting of a number of different buildings, some with docents and some without. We had our young children with us and some parts seemed tailor made for them (the large green; the doll museum, which is actually just one room that you have to ask whoever's in the Sayles Home to open for you; the penny candy in the gift shop) and others not so much (the two art galleries mostly). We ran into very helpful, interesting, and talkative guides and some who were less so, but still quite friendly. If you're going to the Edison birthplace anyways, then definitely stop here, but if you're used to larger, more detailed historical museums then this probably isn't worth a special stop. It was $20 per family (there is a Groupon but it's for the same price) and the hours on the website are wrong. During the summer months it's open 10-5, not 1-5.

If you enjoy small-town museums, you'll like this one. In addition to the history of Norwalk and information about the Firelands, there are a mumber of other exhibits relating to the post- civil war era. The day we visited, a friendly and helpful volunteer showed us around for a while but then let us wander through at our own pace (slow). Unlike many small museums, this one is professionally curated, so the exhibit labels are well-done and the overall layout is logical. The museum is impeccably clean, too. We spent two hours there.

The owners of this cute little winery, Denny and Diane are the nicest people! We live pretty close so we seem to stop by a lot. They have fun activities like the fall festival with vendors and brick oven pizza and a spring mother's day event. Also painting classes for wineglasses and one for canvas. They also do murder mystery nights. Usually there is live music on Saturday nights. It is vey low key and relaxed. There are picnic tables outside by a little river, which is nice when it is warm. Oh, and the wine is great!

The kids had a lot of fun. The park was clean. It was crowded, but school was out so it's expected. Lots of variety in slides, my kid's favorite was the cheetah racers. The line moved quick, and apparently it wasn't other people's favorite bc it was always the shortest line.

Hot air balloon rides in Norwalk, Ohio. A view of the north coast like no other. Views of Lake Erie, and more. Flights are 45-60 minutes (duration and distance are weather and landing site dependent). However, expect up to 3 hours for the entire journey. Flights are all weather permitting and take place at sunrise and within 2 hours prior to sunset. "Your Journey Awaits"
Took my dad on this balloon ride. Was such a beautiful experience. The people who have the business are very good at what they do. And make sure you are having a great time. I would recommend ventures Aloft to everyone.
