Beautiful wines from boutique vineyards, created by artisan winemakers - to be shared and enjoyed. As part of the Southern Gippsland Wine Trail, we are close to major highways and an easy, pleasant detour on the way to Phillip Island, Wilsons Promontory or beyond. Our Cellar Door is situated at Loch, the gateway to Prom country in the Gippsland wine region of Victoria's bays and wilderness areas. Relax with a glass or a tasting flight on the verandah and soak up the view over the vines to the beautiful Loch valley. Tours and groups are welcome by appointment. Find us on Facebook and Instagram
We only decided to go the night before and Mark was so accommodating and fitted us in straight away! It was such a beautiful winery with rolling hills in the background. The hosts were lovely, super welcoming and we’re actually going back today (two weeks later) because we loved it so much! Highly recommend!

Loch Brewery & Distillery - hand making small batch traditional real ale, single malt whisky & gin. Cellar Door open for take away sales Saturdays & Sundays between 11am & 3pm. Website orders dispatched Australia wide through Australia Post.
Purchased the G&T gin and the single malt whiskey from the sherry barrel stock. Pleasantly surprised with the quality. Gin has a very London style but with some Australian botanicals. Very refreshing and citrussy. Up there as a favourite now. The Whiskey has a very powerful impact at the front of the palate. Very Australian whiskey style. Lovely sherry and honey character. Very friendly hosts. Looking forward to coming back once post covid opening.

Today this looked like a sleepy village, but I still recall the first time I drove into Loch and could not get a carpark because it is so busy. This is one of those endearing little villages that you can spend a day at enjoying what's on offer. And what IS on offer? There are some amazing cafes and interesting quirky shops to look through. I fell utterly in love with Carringtons ... which is next door to the Olive Cafe. Carrington's is second hand furniture and knick knacks mixed with an array of new items... the owner is just lovely... meeting him was a bit of a treat. Situated in foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges it is a rural town on the South Gippsland Highway, 90 km south-east of Melbourne and 15 km before Korumburra. It was originally built as a railway town when there were plans for the Great Southern Railway. The Railway closed in the 1990s but Loch rebranded itself and became a beautiful little village that enticed visitors to visit it.

For those with a fear of heights ...those first few steps are doozies. But pushing past that fear ... I continued on because let's face it... I didn't come this far to fail on my mission. :) Step by step I traversed that bridge and finally I made it to the other side to greet the soldier memorial. As I stood there looking up at him... my fear rose again as I could see a young family coming closer. What's worse than having a fear of heights? Screaming children excitedly jumping up and down on a suspension bridge, of course!! So I stepped back out there and walked quickly ... as the bridge shifted under my weight I concentrated on making it over to the other side before small children could show me up. Of course, I managed to overcome my fear but that's not all the bridge is about. It's in a beautiful location and it's quite serene. On the recreation oval side there are several memorial trees that I stopped to look at. The trees were quite stunning... as acorns fell consistently fell from them I did go through a moment of wanting to yell, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling"...but I refrained from doing so and instead solemnly acknowledged the sacrifice by local families during the war.
