Lots of memorabilia about the building of the rail road to Livingston and the opening of the Yellowstone National Park. You really get an appreciation of just how tough it was for those pioneer men and women. Upstairs a collection of posters and photos about movies made in Montana is also interesting.

This is a really great museum located in an old school house. It is a bit off the main street, but you can walk to it from downtown. My wife and I spent a few hours looking at the local history exhibits. Lots of things...MoreI'm so glad that you took the time to visit our museum and leave a review. Return often as we make changes annually to our exhibits.

I have been coming here for many years. I have lots of fond memories camping overnight and hiking this trail. Yes, there are bears in the area so keep a clean camp and bring bear spray. The hike isn't strenuous but it is uphill and at least a mile to the falls. A fire did go through a few years ago but that hasn't diminished the beauty of the hike.

We had questions about a couple upcoming events, and the chamber of commerce rep had all the info we needed, and offered options we hadn't considered. I was impressed with her enthusiasm, and with a manner that was both personal and professional. The town is well represented here.

K Potter Fine Art's bright, energetic paintings of regional wildlife and characters brings life to any wall! Come see her new take on the old western themes as she defines new ways to represent and celebrate the animals and people of the west. She sells large originals (oil paint) as well as smaller originals (oil pastels) and prints of her work, as well as gift cards.
Highly recommend that you take time to visit K Potter Fine Art if you are in Livingston area. Beautiful, vibrant paintings for sale at fair prices.

Chatham's lithographs are as beautiful as any I've seen, but they don't stay that way. I have purchased over a dozen of Chatham lithographs, framed them using the highest conservation standards including UV blocking museum glass, and watched them deteriorate in the matter of years. The problem is that the colors (dyes) are unstable, even when exposed to indirect ambient light at home. This results in the loss of certain colors, and the intensification of other colors that emerge. With three of my Chatham lithographs (currently selling for ~$20,000 from Chatham) all the subtle tones were lost and the dominant color of a bright sky blue emerged. The result is devastating. The original beauty is lost and they have little or no re-sale value. Rather than increasing hugely in value, as indicated by Chatham's own pricing, the discoloration renders them worthless. Look and enjoy, but don't buy.
