Located at Milepost 213 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The Blue Ridge Music Center is just up the road from the center point of the Parkway and only a couple miles from where construction on the Parkway began. The onsite museum is informative, the staff is helpful, friendly, and ready to answer your questions. The facilities are clean and safe and whether you love Bluegrass music or not, you'll be glad you stopped here. They often have live music during the day to give you a break in your travels and feature concerts on Saturday night during the summer. STOP! You'll be glad you did!

We enjoyed the visit. Some items in the store were a little pricey. The yarn was on sale so that I can makes Christmas scarves.

Perfect timing for perfect peaches and local veggies, homemade jams, jellies, hoop cheddar cheese for the hubby and other local goodies. Got lucky and found some local sourwood honey. Can't beat the prices on fresh local produce!
Stopped again on the way back home and loaded the truck with the freshest local heirloom tomatoes, corn, beans, country ham and fruits.
We'll be eating good and healthy for while!

Retail/wholesale establishment in Fancy Gap, Virginia, within sight of Interstate 77, at Exit 8, less than 10 miles from the North Carolina border. Housed in two separate buildings, you will find a huge selection of silk flowers, pottery, home décor and giftware items, ribbon, fabric, craft supplies, trims, sewing notions, and much more. There is also a year-round Christmas department as well as in-house design department for custom-made creations.
Upon arrival, the pottery out front enticed us to take a look around and inside. We were hopeful to find locally made items, or items made in the state. Disappointed...The pottery outside is "the outlet" - everything else inside is home decor items found in big box stores and gift shops everywhere, with "Made in China" tags in abundance. The fabric outlet was pretty limited to cotton and home decor fabric. This survived a 2-star rating as a result of the variety of trims and notions. If need a 15 minute break to stretch your legs, it's an interesting stop, but don't go out of your way.

I visit Brady's 2-3 times a month. Easy to get to from either I-77 or Highway 58. The staff is always friendly. My wife and I always can and freeze fresh vegetables for the winter months so we get what we need from Brady's. If they do not grow what we need on their farm, they can usually find it from another local farmer. They have been farming for over 40 years and tell me that they have been at the farmers market for over 20 years. Highly recommend this stop if you are in Carroll County, Virginia.

Located next to the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile post marker 199.5, Mountain Star Gallery represents over 50 potters, jewelers and more! Handmade pottery created on site.
Mountain Star Gallery has very nice pottery pieces. The prices vary as does the different kinds of items available for sale. The owners, Don and Susan Walton, are potters themselves and very friendly. They will chat about their work as well as the other potters work that is for sale in their shop. The shop is laid out in an inviting way with older pieces of furniture and appliances being the back drop for the pottery. Great place to visit when on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Fancy Gap, VA.

I've lived in this area for years and have never been to this shop until this week. The owner was doing needlework while tending the shop. Her creations as well as other artists' work are available for purchase. The prices are reasonable and the selection is very good. The owner is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
The shop is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance at Hwy 52. Don't pass by without stopping in. This place is charming and very tasteful. I will shop here again even though I am a local myself.

Antiques. Boutique. Uniques. A shoppe designed with the Vintage Southern Homemaker in mind. Dress yourself or your home in one-of-a-kind style.
The Nest and Hive Shoppe is a small gift shop with quality items, which would add a nice touch of southern décor to any home. The store was a joy to explore!
