Spent the day there with the family and had an absolutely great time. Watched the races, rode the go-carts and some of the family tried the zip line. The food was great....You have to try the Jensen Burger!! The track is awesome and there's many great viewing locations throughout the venue.

Now in its 61st year of operation, Wade House historic site is owned and operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society. Set upon 240 rolling acres near the northern reaches of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, the site celebrates the world of plank road stagecoach travel, horse-drawn transportation, and mid-19th-century settlement and town building. The new Wade House Visitor Center and Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum offers a rich array of exhibits providing orientation to the site and its themes. The wonder of Wisconsin's largest collection of carriages and wagons awaits each visitor to the site in the new, state-of-the-art 20,000 square-foot carriage museum. A visit to the site's historic area includes a guided tour of the 27-room stagecoach hotel built in 1850 and active demonstrations by costumed staff in the Dockstader Blacksmith Shop and Herrling Sawmill, which features an up-and-down saw powered by the Mullet River. Visitors are transported to and from the historic area via horse-drawn wagon, or they may enjoy a scenic boardwalk and walking trail. The Visitor Center includes a Gift Store and the Butternut Cafe, which offers lunch to museum visitors or travelers from 11 am - 2 pm daily.
This is a neat historic place to visit. You will see how they cut would for building, a blacksmith, a carriage museum and much more. You can also hitch a ride on a horse buggy. Really neat to see how people lived back in the 1800's.

Fireman's Park is just down from the Osthoff Resort and has a very nice beach and some of the clearest water I've seen in a lake. There are various watercraft (non-motorized) available for rental as well as motorized boating, skiing, etc. nearby. Bring your own food or purchase it at the shops nearby (literally across the street). This is a great family adventure.

We where here in September when all the kids were back at school so the area was very quiet and not busy as when it's summer. Hotel is something to see but out off our budget.

Located in Elkhart Lake in the Feed Mill Building (at the North end), this place is a great addition to this race town. The owners are 3 locals who are passionate about their beer, which is brewed in the basement of this beautifully decorated building. They offer flights of beer, about 5 of their own, along with about 20 other boutique Wisconsin brewed beers. The 7 oz. samples in the flights were perfect for getting a taste of what to try next - you can get a flight of 3 - 6 beers, your choice at $2.00 each. I'm so happy this place is here, you'll be glad you stopped in for some great beer and friendly service. We will be back often!

Two Fish Gallery is a "not to be missed" destination when in the Elkhart Lake area. The gallery features a wonderful and often whimsical assortment of original art in a wide array of media. Jewelry, paintings, ceramic, wood, raku, glass, and even hand made birdhouses from Africa. The focus seems to be on originality and creativity. The gardens that surround the property are the work of Karen Robison, a noted botanist and educator. Again, the creativity is evident. One walks a path and moves from Alipine meadow to Japanese Tea House to Wisconsin prairie with plants and hard scapes subtly changing along the way. Various ceramic art is positioned along the route. The garden changes from season to season so it is worth multiple visits throughout the seasons.

I attended the French pastries class which was a half day session. The group of ten prepared eight different desserts. Each person or couple picked a dessert to prepare. The Osthoff team already had all the ingredients and utensils lined up on the large cooking island inside the private kitchen just for the cooking school. Choices ranged from creme brûlée' to chocolate mousse, tarts, truffles and crepes. The chef and two kitchen staff were very pleasant and helpful. They were picking up dirty dishes so fast and always around to help. It is a little disappointing in that you are so focused on preparing your dish that you do not get to learn firsthand how the other dishes are prepared, but I do feel I could make again the dish I prepared. The chef is also stretched thin running from person to person to show how something should be done. I enjoyed the experience and they offer a variety of classes. If you are staying there or a foodie, it is worh doing. You get to taste all the dishes and take home any leftovers.
The world's largest barber pole is a silo outside The Barber Pole, where you can get a haircut for under $10.
