Holesinsky’s Vineyard and Winery - The first of a growing trend in Idaho’s vineyards and wineries - was created by winemaker James Holesinsky, to honor his father Frank’s lifelong dream. Holesinsky’s Vineyard and Winery began in 2001 with the planting of 1000 chardonnay. In 2002 the vineyard grew with the addition of 3000 Syrah, 2000 Merlot and 200 Port (Sauzao, Tiuta Cao, Touragia); the growth continued in 2006 with 1000 Cabernet Sauvignon, 1000 Riesling and adding Muscat in 2007. The wines produced at Holesinsky Vineyards are by no means average, but sing songs of passion, creativity, commitment, and a celebration of life and love. In every sip of their wines you can taste the stories of the Holesinsky family.
We arrived on a Saturday when there was a special event in progress, but Caitlin graciously took the time to provide us with a complete tasting and even a brief tour of the facility. Caitlin and James have chemistry backgrounds, and they really know how to apply that to making great wine. Besides the reds and white, there is a variety of rose wines, which is pretty unusual. We bought a case and an additional bag of peach sangria (which helps to support breast cancer research).

Highly recommend to book a private room on their website, we had the 1 hour private one. They fill the private rooms with clean, fresh water in between guests which was really comforting. The staff had amazing customer service and very helpful! Make sure to make a quick stop to see Lola their alligator! :)

We were traveling from Boise to Twin Falls, and Balance Rock was one of the many stopping points. It was easy to locate, you arrive at the day use park first. Several picnic tables with clean non flush restrooms. It was appreciated since there isn't much facilities out there. After the park, we drove up the hill further and the Balance Rock was visible from the road side. There is an area to park with a covered picnic table. The weather was blue sky beautiful that afternoon, made it easy to photograph the rock. There is a steep and rocky trail that leads to the base of the rock. If you do it, make sure you have good traction shoes. We found at the base the rock actually didn't look as "balanced". At least it did not take long. If you just stopped for photograph, that is perfectly fine. Really enjoyed it and thought it was totally worth the drive to get here. There is no fee. Free parking.

We are excited to announce that Banbury Hot Springs is now under new ownership! Bob Jensen, Kenneth Webb, and Bill Ehrstrom have recently purchase Banbury from long time owners Herb and Zippy Deuel. The new owners appreciate the beauty of this unique property with Snake River frontage and both hot and cold water. The resort features large swimming pool and hot tubs with healing mineral water, RV park, camping, and picnic areas. The river access provides a boat dock and launching area. Thousand Springs Boat Tours operate from Banbury's dock. The secluded park-like atmosphere with large, mature trees, and off-the-road quiet, peaceful river views make this a desirable destination resort. Banbury Hot Springs will be open 7 days a week and year round.
My son and I kayaked first. Equipment was in good+ shape. Staff incredibly helpful. Hot springs pool felt amazing. Just don’t go during a water yoga class and borrow a noodle, you will be barked by an attendee..not staff. Changing rooms area bit dark but everything works fine.
