The Bure Valley Railway is a narrow gauge steam railway operating between the market town of Aylsham and Wroxham, Capital of the Norfolk Broads a distance of nine miles. All coaches are fully enclosed with upholstered seats, heating is provided in the winter months. Combined tickets are available offering a return trip on the railway and a 1 1/2 hour cruise on the Norfolk Broads. An 80 seat cafe is available at Aylsham offering freshly cooked hot food as well as light snacks and drinks. Specially designed coaches are provided to allow wheelchair users and able bodied passengers to travel together. Both Aylsham and Wroxham stations have step free access. Ample free parking for cars and coaches is available at both stations. Children under 5 travel free. In 2020 trains are operating from 15th to 23rd February, March weekends and daily 28 March - 1st November and also at the following three weekends in November. Santa trains operate from the first weekend in December until Christmas Eve.

There's also nature walks to enjoy, followed by hot drinks and tasty snacks from the Nosebag Café. There is also a playground, picnic area and an on-site gift shop offering a range of souvenirs, all proceeds from which support the hundreds of horses in our care. A small heritage Centre dedicated to the history of this fascinating Market Town. The themed exhibitions change regularly, and there is always access to the town photographic archive of over 3000 photographs. Entry is free although donations are welcome. Well behaved dogs are also welcome. Opening Hours - Monday 10.30am -1 pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10.30 - 3.30.
