Cedar Creek was founded in 1845 by Irish and German immigrants.
You must visit the winery - free tastings! There is a great antique shop, a crepe restaurant, and some great clothing stores. My favorite is Robin's European Cottage. I always find great jewelry there.

As people who were taking an afternoon break between destinations, we found Cedarburg to be a delight. It's a small place, packed with novelties of antiques, artisan wares, wine tastings, and is additionally imbued with both architectural and natural history. On a beautiful day this trail gave us the opportunity to explore the outdoors without struggle or research. Walk as much or as little as you like, it's like enjoying a yellow brick road which leads back to shopping, dining, & ultimately a highway return.

The bridge is located in a beautiful park. Great place to take a picnic lunch and sit by the river and enjoy the quiet.

My daughter and I stayed at the Washington House Inn then dressed up to see the Downton Abbey movie at the Rivoli. It was wonderful!!! The theater is run by the friendliest local volunteers. Tickets were $3.50 and we had a Snack box of popcorn, candy and soda for $4.00, so $15 for the 2 of us was a steal! The seats were comfortable and we had a wonderful time! Thank you Cedarburg for a lovely escape!

I'm embarrassed to say I avoided Chiselled Grape because I thought it was the typical local winery with overly sweet wine. I was wrong. Not only can you get great wine produced by the owner's California grapes, called Sexy, but great wines from around the world. You can order a bottle, a glass or a tasting, and just keep going from there. The owner and the staff are fun and knowledgeable. Seating is offered inside and out, even during the winter months.

We finally had a chance to make it up to The Fermentorium on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly busy, but the service was friendly and prompt, and there was plenty of space in the large taproom. We’ve tried their brews before, but the selection available on-site was even better than I had hoped. Along with over a dozen of their own beers, a handful of guest taps were also available. The Fermentorium’s beers are very approachable and well done. My favorite was probably the Blushing Aura – an English Mild with tea. We also especially enjoyed the Rainbows & Lollipops IPA, but all the beers were delicious. The flights were easy to select and order with the flight card we were provided to check off, and the smaller pours were all reasonably priced (ours was $12 for 6). On our way out, we took home a four pack of the Apricot Juice Packets ($16). Although a little pricey, it was definitely worth it. There is some fun swag and a nice cooler of to-go cans to peruse, as well as growlers to take home. I did notice the mixed pack of cans available; not many breweries offer this option – a plus! While we didn’t order any food, it looked like there was a limited selection of snacks/bites available. We enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning the next time we are in the Cedarburg area.
