Once a mining town, the resort area of Schladming is a playground for expert skiers and snowboarders. Four interlinked mountains feature world-class runs and exquisite off-piste opportunities. When the sun goes down, the slopes heat up with night skiers looking to keep their adrenaline pumping after hours. Accommodations range from quirky cabins to rustic lodges to supersized resorts, all heavy on the Austrian charm.

My boyfriend enjoyed him so much here. To me it was fun, but sometimes a bit scary in the turns. But for a speed lover like him it was so much fun. Because of the breaks working left and right seperatly he started turning with the brakes. He couldn't stop talking about it afterwards lol

when you chose like me to take the "Höll" option be prepared to climb countless steps (natural as well as man made steel ones) - with short legs quite a challenge. You are rewarded with beautiful views of the waterfall, the wild waters, a suspension bridge etc. After having mastered that track reward yourself with a Kaiserschmarrn at Gfölleralm and let the surroundings sink in. Continue to Riesachsee and walk along its shore - you won't regret it.

Schladming planai ski resort is an excellent ski resort with new ski lifts, well groomed slopes, fantastic food to reasonable prices and very friendly atmosphere. Lot of different slopes, long blue but also never ending red ones. No 10 - no man's land is a favorite. Will come back as soon as it is possible for a 3rd time.

There are basically 2 ways to get there...one which is sort of mountain road for 4x4 cars ... This one longer, but more comfortable... Second one which we choose (not sure if it was a good idea ...) went straight to the top ....apparently they say short-cut...you definitely need good shoes there... From the beginning it looked like "for well trained people only"...and myself and my wife we were suffering "a bit" ... But our sons 21 and 14 yrs liked it a lot... After one hour of "survival race" we went out of the woods (not just proverb... But real forest...) and we saw all taller peaks around even covered with snow....we were around 1600 m above sea level....then we choose "easier" option and continued on the road...after approx 30min we saw lake... Amazing view... You definitely go for it!!

This place is wonderful. We are both beginners and went up Rohrmoos for two half day to 3/4 day sessions then Hauser Kaibling for one full day on the blue slopes. On Hauser Kaibling the runs were really wide and long. With many places to eat and rest. One note of caution is some of their trails are not that well marked, so we missed the trail 3b on the left and had to ski it again just to go down another ski lift.
