We had a great experience with Snowmonkey in Spindleruv Mlyn. Our private ski teacher (and co-owner) Tomas was simply amazing : very professionnal, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Our two sons (11 and 9 yrs old) had only skied once in their lives. Unfortunately, for the 9 year old it wasn't a good experience. That's why we really wanted an excellent private teacher for 5 days, who's good with children who are a bit slower in learning, and at an affordable rate - certainly compared to Austria or France. That was the reason to come to Spindleruv Mlyn, and we haven't regretted it for one second! Tomas was fantastic, great personality and the best teacher you could get. And the result and progress he achieved in only a few days with our son was more than we ever expected. So a big hug and thanks to Snowmonkey and Tomas!

In a walking distance from Mumlava waterfall there is „Mumlavská bouda“ (786m) which used to be a gamekeeper´s lodge but nowadays it offers a unique family like cozy restaurant with only two tables by a fireplace therefore the capacity is limited. This place is unique natural beauty. Mumlava waterfall is one of the best spots to visit in the whole Krkonose National Park. We visited this corner of beautiful nature during October, there was no snow or ice yet and we thoroughly enjoyed the green of the forest and the turquoise color of the Mumlava River. We were surprised by the beauty of the waterfall and the cascades. We experienced complete relaxation with the murmur of water and the singing of birds.

Glassworks Harrachov is the oldest still-working glassworks in Bohemia and most probably in the world. During your personal visit, you can take a factory tour, visit museum of glass, have a beer from our own microbrewery, enjoy a relaxing bath in beer and visit one of our two glass shops.
Restaurant connected with glassworks serving local brew. We were seated at the inner balcony with the view on inside of the glassworks and it was awesome. The service and food was great as well. Definitely recommend.

Špindlerův Mlýn is a lovely town in the Krkonoše Mountains in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It is located not far from the Polish border and the nature is extremely beautiful and attractive. Špindlerův Mlýn lies on the confluence of the river Labe (Elbe) and the Dolský creek (Dolský creek). And their cascades and noise make this place magical. The main reasons why Špindlerův Mlýn visited throughout the year are the many possibilities of sports activities and active relaxation (It is one of the most frequented ski resorts in the country). For us, Špindlerův Mlýn was the starting point for hiking to the Luční hora (at 1,555 m, the second highest mountain of the Czech Republic) and to the highest peak of Sněžka (1,603 m). The settlement was first documented in the early 16th century under the rule of King Louis II Jagiello. It received its name (which can be literally translated as Spindler's Mill) after a mill belonging to a Spindler family, where neighbors would meet. Franz Kafka stayed here for recreation in January-February 1922 and began writing of one of his most famous works, The Castle (Das Schloss). The place is full of good restaurants, shops, hotels and bars.

Very busy in the summer, but luckily we were there early enough to still enjoy some quite time. It's very child friendly with information in Czech and English. The slide down is for children 1.20m and above and a fun experience, also it saves you the time of walking down.
