The 9 Best Things to do Good for Big Groups in Kennebunkport, Maine (ME)

August 9, 2021 Vergie Nakamoto

It took George H.W. Bush to make Kennebunkport known to most of the country, but New Englanders have enjoyed this quiet coastal Maine town for years. In hot weather, beaches are a major draw, but Kennebunkport's many small boutiques, art galleries and restaurants make a visit fun at any time of year. Inveterate shoppers may want to combine a visit to Kennebunkport with a trip to nearby Kittery, where dozens of outlets and factory stores offer plenty of bargains.

Rugosa Lobster Tours

This is a demonstration of lobster fishing and information about lobster biology, Maine lobster fisheries, commercial aspects of the fishery and last but not least, some local history. Fun for the whole family. The Rugosa is a real wooden lobster boat out on the Gulf of Maine and in terms of information shared by the tour guide, children must be at least 6 years. Very young children can be a distraction to the rest of the guests aboard the boat, enjoying the presentation. THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 CRISIS, WE WILL BE TAKING ONLY 10 PEOPLE PER TRIP FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING AND WILL USE ALL PRECAUTIONS TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE.

I visited this little gem in the heart of downtown Kennebunkport I can't say enough good things about this shop. I was greeted by happy smiling faces the minute I walked in the door. The owners Nick and Deb we're so welcoming. They had wonderful suggestions on balsamics and oils to try and pair together. I also got some great ideas for recipes! They have some amazing gift baskets and beautiful gifts as well. I highly recommend this be one of your stops in this beautiful little town.
