Tour this charming University town. We start at the Morehead Planetarium Sun Dial, stroll down the main street seeing the town's oldest buildings, site of 1960's protests, and several famous outdoor murals. This is the day for the lunar eclipse where the red moon comes out. The Morehead planitarium is having special shows for the event & at $9.50, it's a great deal! Beautiful building, nice store, & a rose garden out front.

The iconic Main Street where Tar Heels live, work, and play. With over 95 cafes, restaurants and bars, of which more than 75% are locally & independently owned, Downtown Chapel Hill is one of the best destinations for dining in the Triangle.
I love Franklin St./downtown Chapel Hill. You can walk everywhere. The food/restaurant choices are endless. Nice shops. Plenty of drinking establishments.
