Learn how to surf at Scarborough’s only ‘Surfing England - Centre of Excellence’ located roughly 20 feet from Scarborough’s North Bay, a great little beach break, that is perfect for learners. Opened in 2011, Dexter’s has always been the go-to surf shop for beginners and families. All surf lessons are provided by friendly and professional SLSGB Surf Rescue (Lifeguard) ISA surf instructors who are all first-aid trained and have an outstanding safety record. There is also RNLI Lifeguards patrolling the bay May-September. Dexter’s provides private and group surf lessons catering for all ages, sizes and abilities, all year round. Being the biggest surf shop in the area and owning huge stock of hire kit, the school can handle large groups easily, and offer fun-packed adventure days such as Stag and Hen parties, Corporate Events and University Surf Clubs! As well as surf lessons, Dexter’s also has a great selection of hire kit, you can rent surfboards, wetsuits, paddleboards and kayaks!

Scarborough's original fully qualified and insured surf school based at Cayton Bay. We offer surf lessons, Stand Up Paddle board lessons and from 2013 Coasteering along the the beautiful Yorkshire coastline. We also have a full range of hire equipment from wetsuits to Paddleboards.
