Once a vital part of a mighty sea power, Positano is today a sophisticated resort on the central Amalfi Coast. Moorish-style architecture rises up steep slopes that gaze out on the Sirenuse Islands. Smart boutiques, selling fashions for visitors to display on Grand Beach, abound in the village. And it’s a great base for exploring the area—you can easily travel by boat to Capri, Ischia and the Grotta dello Smeraldo cave.

I've wanted to do this walk for years ,and finally I got the chance. I was not disappointed. We were blessed with beautiful sunny February weather. It takes a fair bit of travelling from Sorrento, but the walk was actually easier and quicker than I'd thought. We walked the route from Nocelle back towards Positano. We used the sunflower guide which I highly recommend. We took the higher route - where the path goes off to the right by a house with a cross in the garden - the signage takes you to the lower route at this point, but apparently the higher route is more spectacular which makes sense, and it was certainly very lovely! The cafe at the end of the route is basic but has a beautiful view too so a good place to stop off before doing the steps down to the road, which was definitely the more tiring bit of the walk. We caught the bus back to Sorrento from a stop at the bottom of the steps rather than in Positano.

This is not my wife's and mine’s first visit to the amazing "Positano", and we hope not the last one. This time we traveled with a couple of friends we love to travel together, for them this was the first visit to Positano, and their enthusiasm and reactions reminded us of our first visit here. Positano is like an old wine that is constantly improving from visit to visit. The city is a network of pedestrian walkways full of plenty souvenir shops for tourists, clothing, galleries and fish and seafood stores and booths. A huge variety of restaurants and coffee shops of all types and levels, of galleries and photo / pictures booths, just about everything a tourists can ask for. An amazing array of objects and views for every photography enthusiast.

The Medieval Crypt is located just below the altar of the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta. It was built in the 12th century. a. C. with parts of a Roman Villa that was in Positano in the 1st Century A. C..
One of the most well-known landmarks in Positano, a beautiful church with marvelous roof and great photo opportunity. Intetesting and detailed interior worth checking out.
