We stayed 3 nights on this lovely property on The Darling. The accommodation was excellent, comfortable, spotless and dinner each evening was delicious. You must prebook evening meals. The hosts are very welcoming and work hard to ensure you have a great stay. We did a wonderful tour of the property. Very relaxing in a tranquil rustic environment. Recommended!

The Broken Hill cemetery is sensational, it's unexpectedly massive for a regional town, even allowing for its great history and heritage. There is plenty of parking on the main road in front of the cemetery and near the entry at the main gate a useful information hut (un manned) where I would highly recommend picking up a copy of the hardcopy guide leaflet. This guide lists graves of social, political, historical and artistic importance including those of artist Pro Hart and opera singer June Bronhill. The graves are numbered in the guide with a matching number adjacent to the actual grave site plus there are signs in the cemetery helping you find your way around. The cemetery provides a great oversight of the history of the city there's a Jewish and Muslim burial area it's not all about the Catholics and the Anglicans. Some of the headstones are magnificent and huge, there are mini family mausoleums and Pro Harts is stunning and different...as you'd expect. The cemetery also features a lovely rose garden at the rear of the site in an area that I believe commemorates war dead. Please note unlike some old towns there's not a pioneer cemetery and a current use cemetery, this is THE Broken Hill cemetery and it's very impressive but do remember to be respectful just in case your visit is on a day when a local residents burial may be taking place. Sensational...would highly recommend, make sure you have your walking shoes on !

It takes a while to go through all the deaths in chronological order, giving names, dates and reason for death. The early days must have been very dangerous and this memorial is very well presented, with you finally emerging on the platform with a view of the city of these miners. Well recommended, and don’t forget to stop at the small memorial halfway up the mullock heap on the sharp corner - apparently, of all the mine deaths these were the only two left underground because the whole level collapsed. Sobering indeed.

A group of us had a wonderful morning looking through this museum Margaret the guide has a wealth of knowledge about the Jewish community both past and present. Out the back there is a great Titanic and model car collection which we found very interesting.

The outside of this place is a great example of Victorian architecture but the gem is on the inside The great hall inside is a beautiful fine and elegant hall unlike both its outside and anything I have seen elsewhere There all sorts of info & things to see that reflect the union history of the town.
