Great place to see what is done with the exhumed fossils. They show you the process of getting to the fossils and the end products for their effort. We found the gift shop to be a great experience and purchased an amazing cocktail table to be shipped back to the USA. I will revise my review once I have possession of the table to let you know how it looks.

Also known as Morabit Fossils in English. There are innumerable fossil "museums" in the area. This one was ideal for our interest level. A smallish sample of fossils with just enough explanation for those of us with little knowledge and curiosity for the subject. No pressure in the sales room. Took less than 1/2 hour (including a bathroom break!). While in Rissani you have to take a bit of time to explore and understand their fossil treasures. This was just enough. A pleasant stop. The fossils of this region are quite remarkable, not something we expected at all. Our expectations were low when our driver dropped us off. We assumed it would be touristy and high-pressure sales. On the contrary, it was interesting and no pressure at all to buy. It is a small, low-key sit. They have a decent display of fossils from the area with some explanation of the types of sea creatures that were fossilized and an explanation of the geology. The fellow who met us at the gate spent about five minutes giving us some explanation and pointing out the highlights. He then left us to wander on our own. Naturally you are steered through their shop to the exit. They have a wide selection from items costing a couple of dollars up to high-end furnishings. There were two sales people walking around to answer questions, but zero pressure to buy.
