Great for couples, groups, and coworkers. This is not your typical night out! Escape rooms join the fun of scavenger hunts with the mystery of puzzles and riddles. Participants are put in a room and have to use their skills of deduction and observation in order to get out! Escape rooms, interactive group activity, adventure/challenge games, team building activity, Escape games, family fun
I've done all three of EscapeX's rooms now and will join the masses in insisting that this place sets the bar in terms of both production and great puzzles. Curse of the Black Knight is still my favorite of all time and I've done over 20 rooms now, including Stash House and Red Giant in LA. It's the one I recommend to anyone new to the escape room scene. The puzzles in the rooms are not frustrating or pointlessly misleading (which I've experienced elsewhere). They're intuitive, plentiful and enjoyable, giving you plenty of AHA! moments to keep you going. The production is top notch. If had to rank the games, Curse of the Black Sword would be at the top with The Attic a close second, followed by Mafia Heist. The Curse of the Black Sword is a multi-room, multi-level castle that feels utterly medieval with its macabre props and set and walls. We were talking about this for days after doing it. I absolutely loved the immersion of this room and the physicality of it. It's been real tough to find such a satisfying game since. It's meant for 3-4 people. Too many is a crowd. The Attic is a close runner up. Great production, plentiful gruesome clues. Super disturbing and creepy, but no real jump scares. We went with a group of four - each of us having a few games under our belt at the time. There is lots to do in The Attic! You will be busy! I was worried we would need more but we did fine. I prefer fewer participants. Less of a cluster F that way and everyone gets to contribute. This is also a multi-room room. Starts out really scary. Mafia Heist was my third and for my taste it fell a bit short of the other two in terms of the overall adventure. It was done on a smaller scale and your job is to also find all the hidden jewels, money and gold which aren't pertinent to you escaping. A couple times we had to be nudged to do things we were already doing because we were having difficulty triggering the puzzle, so I don't count those as proper clues. Staff has been helpful each time, but my favorite guy is the creator. He's delightfully nerdy and passionate and we got a chance to talk to him after one of the rooms. Mission Escape Games and Cross Roads are also known for their quality rooms, but Mission's rooms, while fun, are not up to the production of EscapeX, and Crossroads, while top notch production, still falls short in terms of group adventure. Your entire group is more likely to thoroughly enjoy an EscapeX game, where as only some of you may love the Hex Room, for example.

An escape room presents a unique challenge: escape from the room within 60 minutes! To succeed, you will need to use your intelligence, imagination, and creativity.
This is the nicest escape room I've done. Their website is so intuitive and easy to book reservations. All the themed (four) rooms show up for the day with the available times. There is a very clean restroom in the lobby that you can use just before your hour challenge! The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. You can receive hints w/o subtracting time. We did CSI - Hollywood. There were definitely some challenging puzzles, however, we made it through with seconds to spare. We were a group of three.

Irvine's Best Escape Room -- Treasure of the Nation escape now open!
I had such a great time this past weekend with my boyfriend at No.1 Escapes! We played the treasure of the nation holiday edition and it was wonderful that they could accommodate 2 people. I called many escape rooms and they required at least 4 as a minimum. I don't want to spoil the game but the ending was my favorite since it was very festive. The game is linear so it makes it easy to follow the game flow and the puzzles were intermediate in terms of level of difficulty. There is ample parking as well and walkable to many quick bites!

If you’ve ever been interested in becoming a wizard, this is the Escape Room for you! There is no other place in Orange County where you could go on a journey as magical as this.
Absolutely incredible! Exceeded all expectation. First time to an escape room and booked this for my daughters 11th birthday. She and 5 of her friends exclaimed this was one of the greatest things they have every done in their lifetimes. The host was extremely helpful in moving the kids along with hints and also giving us more time then was allotted so they could complete all the task (THANK YOU!). The decor was better then some amusement parks we have been to, and the games and puzzles together with the story was a fully immersive experience. My only complaint would be that my family is now completely hooked on doing escape rooms and this place has set the bar very high. I fully expect other rooms not live up to Hidden Donkey.

Fire Loop VR specializes in multiplayer/group-based virtual reality experiences. Headsets at home, as great as they are, have one big limitation, you can’t have friends over and have everyone play together. We hope to remedy that with unique one of a kind adventures where you’re not just putting on the goggles and seeing the world, you will also FEEL the world around you. Thanks to our haptic and tactile feedback you will experience full immersion at affordable prices. Enjoy playing cooperative games with friends where you’ll work as a team to fight off hordes of zombies, robots, or challenge puzzles together. If you’re feeling competitive you can also challenge your friends in combative games where you can shoot them, and they’ll feel it. We want to bring the best experience out there that is fun for the whole family. Gamers and non-gamers are all welcomed to experience just how wonderful VR can be and the endless possibilities for it.

The Escape Game is a live 60-minute adventure. You and your team will select a challenge and will have one hour to complete your mission and escape. We offer several unique experiences, all happening in a completely immersive environment. You may be in prison planning an escape, on the hunt for gold or in a museum stealing back a piece of art.
We played 2 of their escape rooms during our Spring Break vacation to the area and it was our teenagers’ favorite activity. We did Prison Break and Playground and both rooms were awesome! They are challenging, but so much fun! We will definitely be back to try the other rooms.

Eskape Rooms is a real-life interactive room in which you and a group of your friends are locked inside a room and must find clues, solves puzzles, and work together as a team to complete the mission within a given time frame.
While visiting from Phx, I did the Cabin room with my sister. This is a good solid room, with interesting puzzles. The decor is fun, and you quickly know that something sinister happened to "previous" cabin renters. The room is not scary, just tense. Our gamemaster was Ruben, who did a great job keeping us on track. (Thx, Ruben!) The lobby is clean and the room itself is clean and uncluttered. This room would be great for all ages. We are both over 60 and loved it. We recommend this business to visitors and locals alike.

An Immersive Experience where you must search for clues, work together to solve the Mystery before time runs out! Think Clue, but Live! Best for Team Building Events, Family Night, Birthday Parties, Church/Ministry Groups, Boy/Girl Scouts, entertaining out-of-town guests, and Bachelor(ette) parties. Hope to see you soon :)
I loved the unique mechanics present in the Undercooked room. Multiple independent puzzles running in parallel made it feel like everyone was doing something all the time. The iPad app worked seamlessly with the room and the puzzles were just hard enough to be challenging without being frustrating. If you play a lot of escape rooms and need a breath of fresh air, I HIGHLY recommend checking out Undercooked.

If you are looking to find an exciting escape room challenge nearby, then experiencing one of Brainy Actz Escape Rooms Irvine is the ideal team building activity or event venue. They are real-life puzzle room adventure that puts you in a room for 60 minutes, with up to 10 people. The goal is to try to solve different objectives and puzzles so you and your team can ultimately exit the room before the clock runs out.
I had a great time at Brainy Actz - so much so that I came back and did another room! James and Franklin were both great hosts and very helpful. I'd say I'm of average intelligence and I was unable to complete both the Art Room and the Car Garage room on time and without hints - but I'm pretty sure someone who's good at these sorts of things could make it happen. There were several really fun surprises and out-of-the-box puzzle solutions that I really enjoyed in both rooms and I'm excited to go back when they change things up!
