They run a “tasting menu” mix and match performance in 2 hours in “Tea House”. It’s ideal for those who are curious about Chinese Opera but do not want to commit to a long stuffy performance in traditional theatre setting. Their subtitles are very good, I can easily totally follow the opera. They give a short introduction of music origin and musical instruments too! It’s a delightful place, their pricing is reasonable

Really great to visit providing you are there just before midday, ready for the loading of the canon and then its firing at midday. The blast was a lot more spectacular and louder than i had expected. You can then visit the small courtyard for half an hour after the firing until the gates are locked.

This spectacular multimedia show, combining lights, music and narration involves 19 key buildings on Hong Kong Island. The facades of skyscrapers are decked out in lights that, at the flick of a switch, glow in a myriad of colours depicting Hong Kong’s colourful and bustling atmosphere.
This multimedia show has set the harbour ablaze every night since 2004, A new edition of the show started in 1 Dec 2017 (last night), with even more exciting elements and a new soundtrack performed by the HK Philharmonic Orchestra. I saw it last night at the harbourfront near HK Cultural Centre in TST, so can listen to the show's music too. Must see, perfect show! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g294217-i1496-k11053891-2017_NEW_version_Harbour_Light_show_A_Symphony_of_Lights-Hong_Kong.html

Cantonese opera is the local art of Hong Kong and the only performing arts in Hong Kong to be included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Cantonese opera is one of the major categories in Chinese opera, originating in southern China's Guangdong Province. It is popular in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hong Kong, Macau and among Chinese communities in Southeast Asia. Like all versions of Chinese opera, it is a traditional Chinese art form, involving music, singing, martial arts, acrobatics, and acting. We hope that through the Project, under the guiding hands of these talented veterans, the essence of Cantonese opera will be passed down to new generations. As for the other "orthodoxy" of traditional Chinese culture, ideology, and values, we also hope that, through subtle nuanced performances, Cantonese Opera can fulfill an enlightening role to the community at large.
