The Kansai region (関西地方, Kansai-chihō) or the Kinki region (近畿地方, Kinki-chihō) lies in the southern-central region of Japan's main island Honshū. The region includes the prefectures of Mie, Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyōgo and Shiga, sometimes Fukui, Tokushima and Tottori. While the use of the terms "Kansai" and "Kinki" have changed over history, in most modern contexts the use of the two terms is interchangeable. The urban region of Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto (Keihanshin region) is the second-most populated in Japan after the Greater Tokyo Area.

A roadside station opened in Minamiyamashiro, Kyoto in April 2017. Minamiyamashiro-mura produces about 30% of Kyoto-produced tea, and the tea has achieved excellent results even at fairs, and is a tea production center that supports both the quality and quantity of Japanese tea's finest brand "Uji-cha". Road station original sweets such as Muracha pudding and Muracha pound cake are manufactured in-store. It is possible to use plenty of high-quality spring-picked tea that is particular about raw materials and can also be used for serving. The cafeteria menu is also based on local food culture and local recipes. Roadside station is a digest of the village. Aiming at a roadside station where you can experience the life of a village centered on tea.

"Nekotapi" is a co-produce store for "Cat Cafe MoCHA", a cat cafe often featured on TV and magazines, and "Tapista", a delicious and popular tapioca drink. The atmosphere of the cat cafe is very stylish. 8 cats are hanging around freely in the store. Please enjoy the rare species of cats and the clean environment of the cafe. The "meal time" at 11 am and 7 pm where all the cats line up is a must-see! 200 yen / 10 minutes.
