Yes, Lake County has a botanical garden! Featuring Florida-Friendly Landscape (FFL) plants in over 22 themed gardens, homeowners and visitors can see different plants, trees, and even vegetables growing over 7 acres of land. They are open 7 days a week and the 3rd Saturday of each month. You can use a map to navigate around or just wander along the paved paths (accessibility!). We go different times during the year in order to see all the different blooming/flowering plants and trees. They also grow all different vegetables and fruit trees throughout the year so you know what grows when. Want to learn more about FFL? Go on Tuesday and Thursday mornings when Master Gardener Volunteers are taking care of the grounds. They are happy to point out different plants or answer questions. The gardens are part of the UF/IFAS Extension, Lake County Office and maintained by Master Gardener Volunteers. Classes and events are also sponsored, so be sure to go to the website and sign-up! Oh, they also have a Plant CLinic that is manned by Master Gardener Volunteers who are happy to assist you with your landscape and gardening questions.

We went to this park mainly to use the boat ramp to put in our kayaks to paddle on the beautiful Dora Canal. The park has a small play area for children, picnic tables (which we used) and only one bathroom of the 2 room bathhouse was open, but clean. The boat ramp made it very easy to put in our kayaks for the canal and larger boats could use it also.

What a serene small ( but not tiny ) family park. We had a beautifl aftermoon to enjoy our delicious Cuban sandwich from Havana1959. There are 10 large metal picnic tables tennis courts. a childrens playground with slides and a workout area with various stations, and a nice size stocked pond complete with a 4 foot gator that we saw from the dock. On the far side of the pond was a dog park. A great place to exercise walk, read and fish. NO swimming please!
