Museo del Sodalizio

The Museum is located in the center of the beautiful S. Pellegrino, medieval district full of small squares, alleyways, of profferli, arches and towers preserved perfectly in their thirteenth century aspect, in a wonderful atmosphere. The exhibition is spread over two floors, in the entrance hall on the ground floor we can admire 10 scale models of various Macchine di S.Rosa transported into the past, they are exhibited in chronological order from the oldest extant, the 1690 models after referring to the twentieth century up to the present "Wings of Light" and porter designed by architect Raffaele Ascenzi. On the first floor there is the audiovisual room where you can attend the screening of films related transport and recent past so he can re-create in visitors the same suggestion and emotion that this spectacular event gives rise to thousands who flock the evening of September 3 all along the way. The transportation of Macchina of Santa Rosa has recently become "Cultural Heritage of UNESCO"

Santa Rosa is the parton saint of Viterbo Viterbo. In honor of Santa Rosa a huge tower (Macchina di Santa Rosa) which is built for this purpose, is carried by 100 men through the streets of Viterbo to the church of Santa Rosa. They build a new tower every 4 or 5 years and there is a competition for which design is being built. This tradition has beem goiing on for centuries and the towers got bigger and bigger, and heavier. Nowadays there is a limit to how high the towers can be. The museum has the most recent tower on display (a smaller model of it, and many models of towers of the past. Also they show videos of the event which is held every year on September 3, A small museum dedicated to a unique, spectacular, centuries old religious tradition recognised by Unesco. Entrance is free.

Museo Colle del Duomo

The Museum was created for the 2000 Jubilee Year. In 2005 the management of the structure was given to Archeoares which, in agreement with the Curia, decided to enlarge the touristic offers with guided visits to the hidden parts of the Cathedral and Papal Palace, giving life to a new Monumental complex. The museum is divided into three sections (see the works by clicking on each section): a) Archeology section b) Historical Artistical Section c) Sacred Art-the Papal treasures

Museo della Ceramica della Tuscia

The Museum is located on the ground level of Palazzo Brugiotti and was open to the public in 1996 thanks to the Carivit Foundation and the city of Viterbo. The collection of about 400 artifacts reconstructs the evolution of various types of ceramics produced in Northern Lazio between the 13th and 19th centuries.
