This statue stands in tribute to John Greig, the greatest Rangers player ever. The statue depicts Greig in his playing days wearing his Rangers strip. He is standing and holding a football in his left hand, a reminder of his position as left back. The statue stands atop a memory to the 66 Rangers supporters who died in the 1971 Ibrox disaster. Each of the victims of the tragedy has their name on a brick that makes up the memorial.

I came across this fabulous, realistic statue named 'Girl with a rucksack' in the Gorbals area of Glasgow. It's a fantastic sculpture that is smack bang in the middle of an estate, which may seem a bit misplaced but is actually very fitting and I love it. Another thing that I love is the sculptor that created this piece is also the the guy who created 'The watcher' at North Berwick, the Patrick Geddes monument at the Scottish storytelling centre in Edinburgh and citizen firefighter.
