Great location, excellent breakfast
Reviewed By Christophe CThis was our second stay at Nap, and for me this is an excellent choice for a few days or a week on the island. The rooms are very clean, and the cleaning staff manages to clean up during your breakfast so you're never disturbed. Our room was recently renovated with a nice bathroom (a little more light would have made it even better) and comfortable fittings, and ample space to organise your clothes etc.. A mini-bar and coffee machine would have been a plus, though. Wifi was fast (except for one evening) and Netflix was possible. Really found the breakfast buffet excellent, perfect selection to suit most diets and tastes, and good quality of products (my girlfriend would have like more local products though). Location is excellent, at the foot of Brandaris, meaning a 5 minute walk for the ferry boat. Will definitely come back.

Hotel Buren is gevestigd in een karakteristiek pand uit 1843 waar de voormalige Zeevaartschool op Terschelling gevestigd was. Tot 1919 fungeerde het als schoolgebouw. In de loop der jaren is het fraai gerenoveerd en tegenwoordig een volwaardig 3 sterren hotel centraal gelegen in het dorp West. De kamers zijn fris en hebben ieder een eigen look en feel zodat ons hotel een geliefde plek is op het eiland voor iedere gast. U loopt binnen 5 minuten vanaf de haven (aankomst veerboot) naar het hotel. Vanuit ons hotel loopt u zo het bos en de duinen in, of bezoekt u de fijne restaurants, winkels en cafe’s van West-Terschelling. Persoonlijke service, goede bedden en een heerlijk ontbijt met verse jus, vers bereide eitjes en vele andere lekkernijen zijn ons handelsmerk. We bieden 16 comfortabele kamers waarvan enkele met een eigen terras. Stayokay Terschelling has a beautiful location on the top of a dune. Sitting in the hostel’s restaurant or bar, you are treated to a splendid view of the famous shallows of the Wadden! The ferry to the mainland docks within walking distance of the hostel, at the village of West-Terschelling. This seaport village is famous for its pretty commandeurswoningen (‘captain’s homes’), Lutine cannons and the Brandaris lighthouse. Children can have hours of fun on the equipment in the outdoor playground.

Reviewed By filforyouPerfect location, reach breakfast, clean rooms, nice customers, reasonable price, luggage storage. The staff is helpful. Even if there was a lot of people including children, the atmosphere was always relaxing and peaceful.

Hotel Schylge (4-stars) is in the lively harbour of the village West-Terschelling and has a wonderful view over the Wadden sea. The hotel views are dramatically influenced by the continuous movement of the sea and tidal changes. Hotel Schylge offers luxury and comfort. Restaurant 'Op West', one of the best on the island is led by star decorated chef Ton van Scheppingen. Within a short walk along the harbour you will find yourself in the charming village of West. Walking and cycle paths to the beach, woods and sea begin from both the front and back of the hotel. In the last few years Hotel Schylge has been largely renovated. The rooms have a luxurious designer feel but at the same time still manage to capture the unmistakable island feel.

Reviewed By freshairfanWe stayed for 3 nights in one of the two-bedroom apartments -- and we can't wait to return. The apartment is on two floors, with bedrooms, bathroom and WC on the entry level floor and a large living/dining/kitchenette with balconies on both sides (one side overlooking the inland dunes, and the other overlooking the north sea and dunes on that side). The beds were super-comfortable, the rooms were quiet, and there were quality room-darkening drapes on the windows. (This is absolutely essential if you're sensitive to light, especially in the summer months this far north, as the sky doesn't get dark until close to 11pm and gets light again at 5am.) The kitchenette appears to have originally been designed to enable guests to prepare meals (with a stove and cooktop and dishwasher), but the room is advertised as only providing a coffee maker and electric kettle and refrigerator/freezer. The advertising is correct, despite appearances. There were no pots and pans. We have to assume that the management wanted to encourage guests to make use of the restaurant, which we did -- and this was fabulous! We've dined at great restaurants all over (including Berkeley's Chez Panisse) and the food at this restaurant is excellent. We were happy to order food and eat it in our gorgeous apartment for the three nights we stayed there. We absolutely loved our stay and plan to return (especially if we can get the same apartment -- the people at the front desk said it books up well in advance in the summer months).

However a bit pricey as wellness is closed, and dinner inflexible only served at 6.30pm, to your room....and not of a good standard. Breakfast is good, and plentiful and lots of parking.

Great place to stay.
Reviewed By texas5242The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are nice. Breakfast is served, it has a bar, but no restaurant. Terschelling has no luxury hotels in the city, but this hotel is well-located for both the ferry and city center activities. The city is interesting and historic, and the countryside is delightful. The island is small and can be traversed by bicycle, by hiking, or by hiring a taxi. Most roads and trails are fairly flat, and there are difficult trails. The village is missing the mark by not having guided island tours. We hired a taxi and told the driver to show us the island and provide commentary. He did quite well but was clearly not accustomed to doing so.

Reviewed By Pieter GMy partner and I only stayed two nights but we loved our time at Altijd Wad. Mieke is a great host and really makes you feel at home. A great location near the centre of West-Terschelling. I would definitely recommend it to other travellers.

Geniet van een stoomcabine, sauna, 'douchehemel', lichttherapie, massagedouche en bubbelbad.Het hotel biedt tevens een uitstekende keuken, die uitsluitend verse ingrediënten gebruikt.Tegenover de Caracol vindt u de trouwlocatie " het kerkje", een ideale combinatie om aansluitend de champagne te nuttigen.

Reviewed By Ronald PWhen you book here, remember the hotel has only 3 rooms and you should not expect all elements to be like a "normal" hotel. As far as we are concerned they excelled on every single aspect. The room was large and had many extras compared to any other (4-5 star) hotels. It was the first hotel with a coffee maker with frrsh beans of one of the best brands of coffee machines. The beds are Hastens and besides a very comfortable (rain) shower it also had a whirlpool (with TV present). Very good value for money.
