Just had a lovely 2 night stay at this lovely old hotel. The staff couldn't do enough to accommodate our special needs. The room was beautiful and very comfortable , lovely atmosphere, the beautifully maintained gardens were a delight to walk round after breakfast each day. Restaurant was lovely too, delicious food and nicely spaced tables. Highly recommend.

A thatched 16th century traditional country inn located in the picturesque village of Marnhull & right in the heart of Thomas Hardy country! Steeped in history, with beautiful Dorset scenery, a warm welcoming atmosphere, luxury accommodation, award winning Dorset brewed Hall & Woodhouse Badger ales & great home cooked food. Please note for the time being the pub itself is closed on Mondays although we are still accepting room bookings on Mondays with dinner served in the room or, weather permitting, in the garden from a reduced menu.
This was second visit here and although the food was good and the waitresses and bar staff friendly, the manager definitely needs to attend a customer service course. When asked which drink was which he replied “it’s what you ordered”. He was also very uninterested that a friend of mine ripped her jeans on a nail sticking out under the table we were sat at. Such a shame as lovely pub.

The hosts and staff were all amazing and couldn't do enough for you. Lovely clean, big room. Would highly recommend staying here and will do in the future. And it's in a pub! Life doesn't get any better. Just bear in mind sometimes there is live music which may not suit the early birds, but was fine for us.

Ideal for holiday or business (FREE WiFi, separate entrance, separate lounge, early breakfasts, pub nearby, CC payments). The cottage has a large garden with beautiful view. We have 4 doubles and 2 singles and a twin (all with en-suite/private shower room), TV, tea & coffee making facilities. The beds are top of the range from SEALY. Plenty off road parking. Fantastic full English breakfast. Gourmet menu/food available. Children welcome. Strictly non-smoking and no pets allowed.
Booked a couple of rooms for 2 nights for me and my mother while we were attending a family gathering in Dorset. The guest house is in a great location with wonderful surroundings and very quiet too. Justin is a fantastic host who went to great lengths to make sure we had the best stay possible. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was probably the highlight for me, the cooked full-english breakfasts were excellent and there was also an excellent choice of other options. Overall, a very good choice of accommodation and at a very good price too.

Two light filled bedrooms are available here, both with super king sized beds (or two twins) and large bathrooms (one ensuite, one separate). Privacy and a quiet night is assured in this peaceful and secluded rural spot. Guests also have use of a snug, conservatory, 2 acres of garden, covered parking and WiFi. Rooms £85-95 for two people including breakfast.
What a lovely quiet relaxing bed and breakfast, wonderful hosts , we had a spacious room with the most comfortable of beds ever! The whole house was so clean and so up together, breakfast was very good. We are walkers and were issued with plenty of walks to choose from, the area and villages Are very pretty. Just to let you know our lovely wood carving of Jenny wren that you made has pride of place on our mantelpiece! Definitely recommend!

The Fiddleford Inn is a beautiful country inn set in the lovely gently rolling Dorset countryside. It has re-opened with a new kitchen, traditional bar, character village bar, dining room, large garden and four beautiful en-suite rooms. Dogs are welcome in the bar and village bar. A warm welcome awaits so call in, kick back, relax and enjoy.
We have just returned from 1 night at the fiddleford inn. We were staying there for a friends wedding and couldn’t recommend it enough. We arrived on a tight deadline, but Barry the owner was so helpful, arranging a delicious lunch in no time and then even gave us a lift to the wedding! The room was lovely and service outstanding. The much needed breakfast in the gorgeous garden was lovely, Barry was able to offer almost anything. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the Marrakesh yurt for Mother’s Day. Alison was a lovely host and nothing was too much trouble. Hot tub was amazing looking over the beautiful fields. Host even left a few choccies for a Mother’s Day treat. Fire pit with marshmallows! Yum! Everything you could need, even down to a few games for the evening entertainment. Full cooked breakfast was delivered to us in the morning. Thank you so much for a really enjoyable stay.

Attractive cottage bed and breakfast with double and twin rooms in the heart of Thomas Hardy country, with a village pub nearby. Beautiful country walks - children and dogs welcome. Shaftesbury and Sherborne with quirky streets, tempting gift and coffee shops are less than 10 miles away.
Absolutely delightful place to stay in the middle of this charming village. Peaceful and quiet. Sarah is always smiling and breakfast is superb. A great start to the day. The house is warm and very comfortable at this time of the year. The only pub does fairly nice food and is just down the road.
