Hotel Tiosh Abaj was built with a special interest to be a beautiful, diverse, and comfortable resort destination. Our goal is to support the regional economy and to create a wonderful experience to local and international travellers. We have 30 rooms (22 Standard rooms and 8 Suites). The hotel and its outbuildings were built with many artistic hand crafted stones, given it a natural touch that matches the surroundings. Our hotel's main building has four levels with spacious rooms with tile floors, hand-carved wood doors, and private bathrooms with hot water. Our rooms have hand-made colonial-style furniture, orthopedic mattresses, and colorful Mayan weavings to ensure a comfortable beautiful stay. Each room also has a private balcony or patio that looks out over the gardens, with the upper floors showings a view of the lake. Each room also features Cable TV and Wireless Internet. Within our hotel, guests from all over the world enjoy private access to the shores of Lake Atitlan. Guests can take in the exquisite landscaped gardens, lie in a hammock, enjoy an organic coffee on the pool deck or experience our delicious menu of fresh international and national offerings.
This is such a great hotel! It has views, big grounds, nooks for privacy and a great pool. It has everything from suites to dorm rooms, great views, and a staff that just couldn't be beat. Their English is a work in progress, but their hospitality unmatched. There weren't many American guests, but their should be. We got to watch game 7 of the world series on the big screen in the dining room. The balconies are great. The paths around the grounds are even the lighting is great, the stairs are well lighted, and easy to climb, and have hand rails. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal, but believe me, it is.

We stayed at Pescador with a group of 11. The service was beyond compare. First lets talk about the staff and service, there are two service people on the grounds to serve you at all times. There is a wall button to press if you need anything at all on the wall of each room. Meal service either delivered from the restaurant in town, or for a big group cooked on site, indoor or outdoor dining, depending on the weather. They have a refrigerator in reception they will allow you to use, and also beer, water, hot coffee, and soft drinks available. There is a microwave in reception. The hotel is extremely clean, and neat. The hot water in the bathroom is a little tricky, as it is an on demand system, but not to worry, the staff will turn it on for you if there is a problem. Some may complain of the traffic noise, but I wasn't bothered, and next to the barking dogs in other parts of Santiago, this is paradise. It is a little farther out of town than some places, but the staff with help you get a tuk tuk, or pick up truck and be sure the price is correct. Did I mention, the staff is amazing. Oh yes, and you can have you laundry done on site as well. A very nice service. The grounds are amazing, with beautiful small details, many nooks for small groups, or personal space, with large areas also for group gatherings. Oh, yes, and as for the view? Within a few months, the new part of the hotel will open, with the best view I have ever seen of the volcanoes and lake.

The perfect place to enjoy an excellent stay in Santiago Atitlan, Solola Guatemala. Two of our important ambitions are the satisfacton of our clients, and the utmost respect for the ecological environment of the region. We have fused our hotel with the landscape, preserving and beautifying with a gorgeous garden in which we offer our comfortable rooms and swimming pool for our guests. Each room has private bathrooms with hot water. In the architecture and design elements we have used a traditional tz’utujil village design like the wooden beams, carved stone raised on two separate porches with large wooden columns, and thatched roofs. The bungalows are romantic with their carved stone and thatch roofs, with private gardens, terraces, and bathrooms with hot water.
This hotel is a little gem in Santiago. The location is perfect (ask to go directly to the hotel pier if you come by boat), the garden is just amazing and the service the best we had in Central America. The staff is so nice and helpful, everyone. The food is delicious, we spent 3 nights and ate 3x at the hotel: impossible to go away. We enjoyed the kayak, the wood-sauna and the room. We really regret to leave this Eden Garden ?

The restaurant offers great menu. The staff is very professional and nice. Prices are according with the service. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and the nature is amazing. You can also visit the restaurant without staying at the hotel and be sure that you will received an excellent treatment.

Friendly staff and the food was nice. The hotel is lacking maintenance and the newly added building are done with the cheapest solutions. The water access is poorly maintained and it is one of the few places in the lake where you don't feel like swimming. It could be a great venue, but unfortunately it appears that the owner is not investing properly in the place.

I stayed here when I went over to Santiago from San Juan to do the Quetzal-viewing trip with Atitlan Birding Expeditions. The guide booked the hotel for me and I did not have high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel, despite costing only 160 quetzals (about $22) was so nice! It has a beautiful garden and even a pool. The rooms were simple but very clean. The local embroidery on the bedding was a nice touch. There was free filtered water available, the staff were friendly helpful and the property seemed very secure. I felt safe staying here as a solo woman traveler. Also, it’s right near the pier and right near plenty of places to eat. The staff recommended good restaurants that were right nearby, which was helpful, because I don’t like to walk around after dark much when I am traveling alone. Also, I got back late from the birding trip (a couple of hours after the checkout time) and they did not even charge me extra. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a clean, safe and convenient place to stay in Santiago Atitlan

Although we did a booking with hostelworld, they were fully booked and we couldnt stay. The owner wasnt there. The stuff organised another room in another hostel which was much more expensive. They didnt gave back the disposit. Really annoying. If you wanne have a save accomendation, better dont go! But the garden looks very nice.
