The staff working here were the best. The price was way too expensive but these folks were very curtious and helpful. Rooms were old but very clean. Courtney (hope that was her name) working the midnight shift was outstanding!!!

My wife and I have stayed as guests at this casino several times over the past six months without any issues. Prior to our first visit I read reviews on several sites and noticed complaints about how guests were treated by security officers on the casino floor. I disregarded them and this was an error on my part. Some background about us. My wife and I are both in our early 60s, grandparents, my wife works for a church, and I hold a mid-level management position with a regional bank. She is a Diamond Plus member and I am a Diamond member in the Caesars Rewards program. Not in any way bragging about the Diamond status just pointing out that this is not our first rodeo. On our most recent visit we were staying overnight and arrived early in the day to gamble and have a few drinks. My wife was approached by a gentleman who identified himself has her host and asked if there was anything that he could do for her, get her a drink, or anything else to make her stay more enjoyable. My point being that the casino is aware when guests at our level of play are present and encourage us “to enjoy ourselves”. We didn’t order anything from him at this time. After playing for about three hours and having three beers my wife went to the high roller bar to get us another round, which was very kind of her, I am always her server and appreciated her going. (Drinks are half price for Diamond members) When she got to the bar, the bartender served the two beers, she paid and tipped her and starting walking away. A security officer walked up to her, rudely took the beers out of her hands, and stated that he was taking them because she had too much to drink. I had finished playing the machine I was on and arrived just after he had done this. He stated to me that she had too much to drink but I could take the beers if I wanted them. Neither one of us were inebriated, we had three beers over a three-hour time period. My wife in no way was rude to the security officer or anyone else on the casino floor. She does not know how to be rude; it is not in her DNA. She was not slurring her words when she spoke and stated that she did not understand why he was doing this. As a couple that experienced the 1970s as adults having a few beers over the course of three hours is easily manageable for us. The security officer again stated that she was drunk (which is simply insulting) and that I was the only one that could have the drinks. This was nothing less than blatant sexism by the security officer and smacked of ageism as well given that the security officer was obviously younger than both of us. If I had been the one to get our drinks from the bar absolutely nothing would have been said to me and this incident would have never happened. We walked away, went to our room, and later left the hotel. The security officer’s actions also make me wonder if we had not been Caucasian would I have been treated rudely as well. My opinion is that, had I been African American or any other person of color he would have just as rude to me if not more so. I say this because I have also researched and found a number of reviews complaining about racism at this casino. Additionally, after walking the casino floor and the hotel lobby I did not see a single person of color working there. We obviously will never return to this casino/hotel and would urge readers of this review to strongly consider not giving this establishment your business. One final comment, we have also visited and stayed several times at the Harrah’s Cherokee casino located in North Carolina and have never been treated in this manner and have not observed anyone else at the Cherokee location being treated poorly. I would encourage anyone to play and stay at this location, all of the employees are very polite and helpful, and the employees are much more diverse from an ethnic viewpoint. Thank you for reading this review, I apologize for the length, but I really wanted to provide a full explanation of what happened.

Very cute room! Bright, fun decorations. It was very clean, and smelled nice. Beds were comfortable. They gave us complimentary waters and a cute fruit and muffin basket. Great water pressure, with a shower head tall enough for my husband. Large assigned parking spots for each room. The girl in the office was super sweet and let us look at the room before checking in.

Our flight was cancelled as soon as we got to the airport due to short staff. This was right at the height of Omicron and national news about flights being cancelled on this day. The "Manager" Nicole Jackson was just horrible, 0% compassion and 0% etiquette when I asked to not be charged. We were in no way prepared that day to make the 9 hour drive that night in lieu of our flight. She did not listen and refused to give me the Owners phone number but did go ahead and provide me a bogus name for him. They tried to charge my card for the night even though the circumstance was out of our control. This type of service would never be tolerated at a quality hotel, more along the lines of the dirtiest gas station at 3 am.. Going now through BBB. You will not take my money!

This was my first trip traveling with a pet so I was skeptical of What to expect. The room was large an very clean an smelled good no trace of previous Animals. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows as were the sheets cleaned ab fresh an all white which is what I prefer in hotels. The bathroom area was immaculate. There’s a large fridge an microwave. The housekeeping staff was excellent an friendly. We had a pet accident an they were very understanding an accommodating. Front desk was very nice. The continental breakfast was one of the better ones I have had. Fresh pancakes multiple choices for toast, eggs, cereal, fruit etc. The pool area was very nice as well. They leave a welcome baggy for your pet with treats an poo bags. The only thing I wished was that there was a designated spot for a pet bathroom.. other then that o had a great experience.

Newly remodeled property.
Once again the owners have demonstrated their kindness. During our prior visit, my mother died while we were out of state. They took care of our every need during a difficult time. This past return visit to Murphy, NC occurred days prior to the shutdown of the gas pipeline. Again, we were cared for and we have become even closer friends. We are treated as family. The rooms are clean, close to town, and quiet. The ethic of our friends is to care for their guests and not just meet, but exceed their every need. We will be returning again in several months and look forward to our stay.
