The ancient stone farmhouse of the '700 houses the apartments with one or two bedrooms, while the rooms are located in a new building overlooking the valley. At guests' disposal there are the swimming pool with sun beds and gazebo, the convenient parking and the whole area is covered by free wi-fi. Gli Orzali is ideal for those who love walking and experiencing nature even with their four-legged friends, who are very welcome with us. Il Sagramoso restaurant serves typical Tuscan cuisine.
Awesome escape from the city - plus a parking tip
Reviewed By Dave MSabrina's place is awesome. it is about 50K north of Firenze and so about a 1 hour drive. 1/2 the trip is twisty beautiful Tuscan mountain roads. I grew up in the hills of West Virginia, so it was very familiar to me. Directions from Goggle maps are perfect. The cost to drive the A1 portion from Firenze to the Barbarino exit is only 2.10E. The rooms are very cool and well outfitted with everything you need. You may have to go to reception to get internet service. The associated restaurant just down the hill is excellent with a great staff. The views are fabulous, especially as the morning fog raises . Say hello to Sabrina's two dogs and Stella the black cat. We loved Gli Orzali. PS - if you stay here I assume you have a car. parking in Firenze is a pain, but we discovered if stay on the A1 heading south, go two exists past the Firenze Cento exit and get off at the Villa Constanza Tram exit. The parking fee is 5E for 10 hours and the tram is only 1.80E for a one way tram ride right to the main train station

Reviewed By jesuisunboboWe had a very relaxed dinner with a friend that was staying there. It was an excellent meal: starter was ficattole or rather "coccoli" as they are known in Florence when they are bite-sized with some Tuscan charcuterie - sbriciolona to die for according to my husband and friend who could not stop eat it- gota (cheeks of the pig), some prosciutto toscano and squacquerone cheese for me (the vegetarian of the group). The first course was ravioli in various versions: spinach and ricotta filling with butter and sage, potato filling with ragù sauce and, most importantly, ravioli made with spelt flour and cacio e pepe (cheese and black pepper). This last one is unique, worth a visit on its own. We had so much food that we had to skip the second course and moved to the desserts: mattonella al cioccolato (a chocolate semifreddo), the zuccherini (local shortbread biscuits topped with sugar and alchermes), sbriciolona (this time the cake), and cantucci and vinsanto. Excellent company by the owners, swift service and a very fair price for the meal. Possibly one of the best places to eat in the valley. If you are around, worth venturing up there, you won't be disappointed.

The dishes that are not to be missed and are always available in our menu include: hot and cold homemade starters, homemade pasta, such as the typical potato ravioli, ravioli with ricotta and spinach filling, and pappardelle (wide homemade pasta). Second courses include outstanding, delicious, grass-fed beef from the Mugello farms, Fiorentina (T-bone steak), beef tagliata, and boar, hare and other game specialties (available during the hunting season in autumn). Whenever availlable and according to season, we also offer porcini and prugnoli mushroom dishes as well as truffles. And dulcis in fundo, excellent homemade desserts. For your comfort, our restaurant doubles as a bed and breakfast, and we can guarantee a pleasant stay in our colorful rooms. Cozy and colorful, the rooms are all equipped with private bathroom with shower, TV and heating. Homekeeping includes daily cleaning and linen change every 3 days. We also have an apartment (4 guests) with private bathroom. All rooms have free wifi access.

Appartamento spaziosissimo, due camere da letto, bagno e lavanderia privata. Abbiamo apprezzato soprattutto la colazione già preparata nel cucinino, con frutta fresca, torta di mirtilli fatta quel pomeriggio e prodotti tipici come yogurt naturale e miele di castagno. Ottima accoglienza e si è rivelata un'ottima tappa per passare dal passo della Raticosa al Muraglione. €70 per 1 notte e colazione, prezzo giustissimo.

Ottimo agriturismo,familiare e cucina casalinga
Reviewed By supermax60Ho trascorso una notte in questo ottimo ambiente. Camera pulita e con parquet. Servizi ottimi . Per quanto riguarda la cena eravamo gli unici, visto il giorno infrasettimanale. Siamo stati serviti dalla titolare che è stata molto gentile. I primi ,ravioli,tagliatelle,gnocchi e passatelli sono fatti in casa e si sente!! Porzioni abbondanti. La colazione super,con dolci e marmellate fatte in casa . Ha un giardino immenso dove poter prendere isole o passare un'ottima pomeriggio rilassante. Se volete andare a pranzo la domenica nel periodo estivo e non dolo ,obbligatoria la prenotazione.E a 15' minuti dallo Chalet la Rsticosa, insomma....ve lo consiglio, se siete in zona e oltre rilassarvi.
