We first stumbled on the Mill End Hotel a few years ago when looking for a good (dog friendly) place to stop off on our way to Cornwall. We loved it so much we've been back several times (and we don't bother driving on to Cornwall anymore). The quality of the food seems to go up a notch with every visit. The menu is always imaginative and utterly delicious. Every course has something to love. The rooms are all very comfortable, well decorated and well maintained. The garden is super for a post walk drink, lunch or even afternoon tea. The location is stunning. We have two dogs who were in 7th heaven romping through the Teign valley. It's super to be able to walk along the river to Fingle Bridge in one direction, up to Castle Drogo or across to Chagford in the other direction. This has become a favourite destination because we know we'll always have a great experience.

We stayed in room 8 which is next to an extractor and plant room which sounded like a cross channel ferry engine. I was assured this would be turned off at 9pm, I asked reception to turn it off at 10.30pm, it stayed on all night so we go NO SLEEP at all. The staff were all very friendly but when we reported this issue at check out, they suggested we book a different room next time. There won't be a next time, at nearly £220 for dinner b&b we won't ever be back. Very disappointing.

We stayed for two nights at the Globe Inn. On the first night, as we were getting ready for dinner, the townspeople and several musicians started gathering below our window to enjoy a pint and sing. It was gorgeous, we had this amazing view, and now we were being serenaded? It was too delightful. We went down to the pub for dinner - which was fantastic! - and one of the musicians came in to dine with his wife. We thanked him for the music and he told us that everyone in town had now made this a Friday night tradition that started during quarantine. Then he leaned in and said, 'You want to know a secret? Chagford is the best town in England.' I believe he is right. Cute shops, great hiking, gorgeous 11th century church. And all the staff at the Globe Inn are exceptional but a special shout out to Nick, who led us through a gin odyssey that we thoroughly enjoyed. Don't miss this brilliant little town and particularly this friendly and accommodating historic inn and pub. Great food, great company, comfy rooms. We'll be back.

This was booked as a Christmas present and it did not disappoint. David and Sue were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely comfy bed and all the facilities you need. The breakfast was great and accommodated any type of breakfast requirement. Highly recommended staying here of you want to get away from it all and relax. The Globe Inn in Chagford was lovely and the food was very good. The Deli in Chagford is also worth a visit.

With stylish interiors, sumptuous bed linen and cosy rooms Hollyberry Barn B&B is a hidden little gem offering luxurious accommodation, all set within one mile from the pretty town of Chagford. With breathtaking views overlooking Dartmoor it is the ideal base for exploring, walking, fishing, golf, horseriding or just to unwind, relax and enjoy some of the excellent pubs and restaurants.
This has to be one of the very best bed and breakfast accommodations in the SW of England. Our host, Clare, was extremely welcoming and very helpful indeed. The room was spotlessly clean, airy with a very generous king sized bed on freshly laundered sheets. Bath towels provided were replaced throughout our 3-day stay. The en-suite shower was very capable. Fresh chilled milk was made available immediately outside of our room. The full English breakfast will sate the largest of appetites! Located a mile or so up in the hills from Chagford this is indeed a gem of a B&B set in rolling countryside. Very peaceful indeed away from all traffic. Great walks straight from the front door which Clare was very pleased to show us. We highly recommend you stay here - you will not be disappointed! Clare is just a perfect host the overwhelmingly positive reviews here are absolutely justified.

Staff were very friendly and our room was spotlessly clean. The selection of loose leaf tea was a lovely addition to the standard tea/coffee. Towels, linen and robes were of great quality. Ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were of a high standard, with generous portions and friendly service. Expected to have a change of towels and refreshed bodywash/shampoo after our first night. But I'm sure if I had asked this would have been no problem. A moisturiser included with the supplied products in the room would have been appreciated.
