The Pousada Convento de Arraiolos is located in the village of Arraiolos, in the region of Alentejo, in an old convent, 1.2 km from the historic village centre. The nearest town, Évora , is just 25 km away. Arraiolos is world-renowned for its carpets, which are considered cultural heritage and unique in the world. During your stay you can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool with sunny terraces and panoramic views over the Alentejo plains, and an indoor swimming pool in which to relax on a chilly autumn or winter day. You can also make the most of your spare time by playing a game of tennis while breathing the pure air of the Alentejo countryside or opting for a relaxing massage. For your meals, we have a restaurant that serves traditional Alentejo cuisine and a bar for lighter meals. The rooms are spacious with minimalist decor and free Wi-Fi, and all superior rooms have a balcony.
First the positives... great location, very relaxed and quiet, ample car parking. Unfortunately, what should have been a great stay was made extremely underwhelming given really poor customer service and in some cases no customer service. Seems like the hotel was being operated by a handful of people; at least two of these seemingly trainees with no experience. In fairness, these guys tried, but it appears that they have had little or no training - an issue more with the hotel management than the staff themselves. On trying to find someone to order lunch and drinks at 2.30pm on a Saturday, we were eventually told by the receptionist that nothing would be available until 'Dinner' time. When we tried to book dinner for the second night of our stay we were informed that they had no availability - strange that no-one told us they had limited availability when we checked in the day before. Then we had a call to our in room phone at around 4,30pm asking us if we wanted our room cleaning as we had placed the do not disturb sign on the door. Which bit of 'do not disturb' do these guys not understand? Another negative for a hotel which as 32 rooms- they only have approx 18 sun loungers available by the pool - most people ended up sat on the grass. Feedback during our stay was met with...OK we will try and train our staff better....

Casa do Platano is a place of retreat and meditation, which combines, ina creative and harmonious way, the ancient teachings and wisdom of the yoga philosophy of the energetic centres with the temporal and spatial surroundings of Alentejo. Namaste...!
With it's little swimming pool at the front of the property, which is in the middle of the village, this B&B was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are themed around colours and are very nice and smell great! The house is very modern inside (which I like). Breakfast was extensive and tasty.

Monte das Oliveiras is the headquarters of an agricultural exploration that stands out for its fine pastures and water quality. The domain has around 1200 acres and the traditional farming systems from Alentejo are used in order to breed the best native bovine specimens in the region.

We spent 2 nights in the place. The house is like a museum - full of atmosphere, azuleijos, heavy furniture and the smell of an old place. We found it to be interesting but not exactly our favorable place to stay. It used to be the dormitory of the monks who attended to the next door church. Relatively modernized bath but quite dusty. Wifi was working but without internet, so it was quite useless. The gentleman who runs the place is sweet and helpful.

- A acústica deste local é péssima.
