Initially I've booked a night tour to the Sahara dessert with Depart Travels, however faith has led this trip to be cancelled due to some technical errors. Instead of turning me down, Aymen has asked me what are on my wish list and has tailor made a trip proposal all for me privately. It wasn't a regret going on this trip. Ive set my expectation to be an average standards, however with the help of Aymen and the friendly locals, who Aymen has arranged for me to meet, have made me experience one of the best adventure I've ever done. Aymen himself drove me and explained each cities and villages we went to. Even after the trip of the day has ended, unlike any other guides who will just abandon you at your hotel, Aymen has invited me out for a beer and to chill the nights. He is a really kind and knowledgable man. I have done everything I've wanted and perhaps more thanks to Depart Travels. I highly recommend people to this agency and especially a tour with Aymen himself. Ps: He is an exceptional driver, especially on the off road dunes of the desert.

07:00: Departure from the hotel by the Roman road direction Tataouine. 08:00: Arrival to Khalfallah. Stop and visit an oil mill during the olive harvest period or stop at the sand dunes of the Chahbania. 09:00: Arrival to Tataouine and visit the market and the downtown 11:00: Proceed to Chenini, the village topped by a rocky ridge at the foot of which stands a very old mosque. 12:00: Lunch at the Kenza Chenini or a similar restaurant. 13:15: Guided tour of the Berber village Chenini. 14:15: Depart to Ksar El Ferch or Ksar Hdadda. 15:00: Arrival to the Ksar and visit. 16h15: Departure to Djerba via the Roman road. 17h30: Arrival at the hotel. This tour is done in the company of a guide approved by the National Office of Tunisian Tourism.

Showcasing every one of Djerba's rich treasure, my journey was wholesome and memorable with the renowned Houmt Souk market with kaleidoscopes of color mesmerizing me, the Berber pottery market of Guellala, Hara Seguira and the quaint Jewish homes and eateries and of course, the grand La Ghriba Synagogue...it feels as if it was just yesterday! The Guellala Museum shocases Djerba's intriguing history while the Borj El Kebir fortress presents a panoramic view of the ocean from its zenith. Soirees with breathtaking folkloric dance and acrobatics performances and the pulsating music of the Berbers was the ultimate treat while on Djerba Island! With representatives fluent in English, French and Arabic, visitors form around the world are more than satisfied with VPT's overall services and professionalism. Program: 8am: Departure to the Roman road, and then continue to the Berber village of Guellala. Visit an old pottery workshop and the Museum of Arts and Djerbean life. Continue to the village of Erriadh and ‘La Ghriba’, the oldest synagogue in Africa. Visit to Djerbahood, the Street Art exposition initiated in 2014. Visit Houmt Souk, the capital of the Island of Djerba, visit the colorful market with auction sale of fish, spices, vegetables, fruits … visit the covered souk and enjoy the handicrafts created by local artisans. 1pm: Typical lunch at a restaurant in the pedestrian area of the city. 2pm: End of the "half day" program and back to the hotel. Continuation for the "One day" Program: 2pm: Visit the "Borj El Kebire" old Spanish fort and the Marina. 3pm: Continuation to village Mahboubine, Visit of an old Mosquée and the ‘Menzels’- the traditional Djerbian style house. 4pm: Visit of Djerba Explore complex: crocodile farm and Lella Hadhria musuem 6pm: Back to the hotel.

Food prices are cheap so better so opt out for dinner or lunch in hotels.. Some hotels have set menu and drinks are not included..breakfast is also limited.
