Celebrate the wonders of the land and sea in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city and home to Liseberg amusement park, the country’s #1 tourist attraction.
Visiting Gothenburg Archipelago is a must, as is sampling everything from modern gastronomy to ‘fika’ to the fresh-caught wonders at Feskekörka (Fish Church). Be sure to take in the Gothenburg Museum of Art, stunning contemporary art at Röda Sten Art Centre, and – if you visit in August – the incredible Way Out West music festival.

The old building is in a courtyard of smaller buildings .All house artisan craftmen...silversmith, glass, chocolate specialist, antique shop etc.. In the main building today was a Christmas Market with approximately twenty other stall - quite a range of crafts on offer and all of good quality. As it is the feast of St Lucia we were entertained on the stage by an excellent choir celebrating this event. There was quite a crowd of visitors and a lovely festive atmosphere.

As others have mentioned, getting to the top by taking the stairs is not that easy but once you are there, it is worth it. You get rewarded by the fantastic views of the surroundings as well as the fortress itself which is interesting and lovely. Highly recommended.

A museum about the people that left Sweden for a new life in America during the time of 1850 to 1930. How, who, why and where did they end up?
