I just played a round of golf at highland gate and it was amazing. The quality of the course and the condition of the greens were unbelievable. The entire course was well maintained. The fairways were so pristine and the greens felt like carpet. The staff at the halfway house and clubhouse were very friendly. I didn’t have a good round of golf but that’s just cos I don’t play well hahaha. I can’t wait to play there Again.

We played this course as one of the five on our Rovos Rail Golf Safari trip. It was the last one of the trip and the best. We were the last ones to play i before it was closed in preparation for the Professional Golf tournament. Needless to say the course was in great condition. I loved the statues of the Leopards on each of the holes. If you are in South Africa and want to play golf you can’t do much better than this.

Kambaku - Komatipoort Golf Course situated in Komatipoort Mpumalanga is a 9 hole course set in the wildest corner of South Africa. At the confluence of the Crocodile and Komati Rivers along the foothils of the Lebombo mountain range. I had the prego and chips. Nice and spicy as well as more than a generous portion. Daughter had chicken strips. Not overcooked. Situated on the riverbank of the crocodile river, the best view ever overlooking Kruger National Park. First time I spotted an osprey. Great experience.

After an early morning drive eight of us arrived at the Skukuza Golf Club at 10h00 for breakfast. It made a pleasant change from our normal cooking on a skottel. The service was superb with two delightful waiters serving us. The food while basic was excellently cooked and very tasty. Sitting in the Club House overlooking the waterhole on the 9th/18th green was a wonderful bushveld dining experience and one I would recommend to anyone travelling in the park.
The "hidden gem" - Badplaas Golf Club lies at the foothills of Mpumalanga's Hlumu-Hlumu mountains. The Golf Course is situated ± 7 km from Forever Resort (Aventura) Badplaas with unequalled panoramic views. This challenging 9-hole course is privately owned, ideally designed and built by Leon Rorich.
