Stratford-upon-Avon is steeped in the history of its most famous resident, William Shakespeare. This Warwickshire country town contains the home where Shakespeare was born, the cottage where Anne Hathaway resided before their marriage and the church where the couple is buried. Need a break from the Bard? The town also boasts Europe's largest butterfly farm.

Had our first visit of the year today and it was just as good as ever. This is a perfect place for all ages to have fun together in the heart of Stratford in the fresh air, with parking, lovely views all around of the river Avon, the Holy Trinity Church and the theatre. It’s incredibly good value for money and an inexpensive hot or cold drink can be bought there too. The host is super friendly and welcoming , and I noticed that all the used equipment is not returned for use until it has been thoroughly disinfected. So good to meet up with some friends today to have fun with an activity that was easy to socially distance. ????????

Escape Live is Stratford-upon-Avon's premier live escape game offers a unique form of entertainment, perfect for groups of 2-6, that can be experienced in our magical and uniquely themed escape rooms or from the comfort of your own home! Perfect for friends, family, colleagues or special occasions!
We really enjoyed the Shakespeare's Script escape room with Steph. Great room and fun for all of us (2 adults and 11 yr old). Just the right level of difficulty (12 seconds to spare!!!) Steph is an excellent host and I would recommend this as a great activity.

In the heart of Stratford, the Picturehouse offers the best blockbusters and independent cinema alongside a world class programme of opera, theatre, and ballet. The cinema is fully licensed and drinks can be enjoyed in the bar, on the garden terrace, or while watching a film. The bar is open all day for coffee, cake, and drinks and free wifi is available. There are special screenings for children, parents with babies and Senior citizens.
Having realised with increasing frustrating recently that all the films I wished to see were not on offer at mainstream cinemas locally, I revisited Stratford Picturehouse for the first time in several years to view White Crow. I joined the Silver Screen club to qualify for £5 ticket (contrasting significantly with best prices offered elsewhere) and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience: film (enthralling for all Nureyev fans); seating (extremely comfortable with plenty of leg room); sound and temperature in auditorium (perfect, neither blaringly loud or too hot / cold). Only downside to visit, I learnt from fellow cinema goer that Picturehouse was to close in 18 months due to end of lease (building purchased for yet another hotel development). A tragedy. Affordable cinema is an essential and much appreciated entertainment, in my view.

To ‘normal’ cinema. The Everyman is a great experience. Staff sensational, food memorable, great wine and cocktails on comfy sofas. Love it.

Great day at the races weather was sooner and the punters were out. We went into the Gallery restaurant and enjoyed a three course meal, you keep your seat throughout the race and can see the whole of the racecourse from the gallery restaurant. Thea maitre d was excellent and knew her stuff, some of the staff needed some more trainIng, and don’t appreciate being told they are new. Would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant if you are visiting the race course.

Jungle Town is an inspiring play experience for children who love role play, now open in Stratford-upon-Avon. Book a 90 minute play session at Jungle Town to explore the child-sized town run by jungle animals. Jungle Town has its own play grocery shop, cafe, school, building site, house and emergency services! Your children will love moving from shop to shop discovering new things and helping their own development along the way!

Went here with friends for swimming. Good swimming pool and facilities. Lockers were not working and required old one pound coin. Good experience.
Your ticket includes what no other does! Which is a cooked breakfast to start the day, before exploring Stratford-upon-Avon for 4 hours however you wish to, with ticket access to ALL of the following: Shakespear's Birthplace, Shakespeares New Place, Hall's Croft, Anne Heathaway's Cottage, Mary Arden's Farm. Finally ending the day with a fun art painting workshop! No art painting experience necessary. :) This is a great way of being able to enjoy interacting with other couples also!
